i thinking about making my own blend of shisha. i figured i would use the following herbs. oh and NO tabacco.
Herbs:
Damiana.(Turnera difusa)
Kava.(Piper methsticum)
Wild lettuce. (Lacuta virosa).
and i figured i would use a strong tasting fruit, maybe strawberries?. or apple?. if anyone else has any suggestions, please post em.
thanks!

Wow, this is such a grand idea you got me excited!
I believe it WILL work.
Although I think the herbs may need to be cured at least bone dry?
There are directions for this online.
Try it out and let us know!!

the kava is in extract form, so is like a soft hash consistency, easily broken up. think this will matter??
im pretty sure the wild lettuce will be bone dry, and the damiana should be bone dry.
how do you think the taste will be?.

It'll probably not taste that good using real fruit. I'd think most of the people making that stuff use strong artificial flavoring to make it taste so strong when you smoke it.

That would defeat your purpose of it being herbal. But honestly I'm not too sure what type of artificial flavoring they use, but I'm sure you could find more info about that somewhere online.

Well I have no idea how shisha is made, but...
It is soaked in some kind of molasses, which I believe contributes to its sweetness...
As for sweetening the shisha, perhaps you could soak it in some type of liquid artificial flavoring (I'm not a cook, so I can't help you)... Then let it dry a bit...
I mean, if you think about it... You can leave weed in a container with an orange peel, and it will taste like oranges.

A small or minuscule amount could be absorbed into the water while filtering through the hookah's water.

Like someone said, the kava isnt a good idea.
The damiana is going to taste real minty, so I would use a small amount
Other herbs to consider : Mugwort, mullein, passion flower, lions tail, blue lotus,
What you need for shisha is:
Herb (cured, wet before adding to pot) Fruit or fruit concentrate Glycerin
The glycerin is a must have from what i understand.
If you have these 3 things you can pull it off.
Though like I mentioned do some googling.
