LED light
    #1383635 - 03/17/03 09:11 AM (21 years, 17 days ago)

Right now I'm using two blue LEDs in my fruiting terranium, running 24 hours/day. Is this too much light? Thanks

LED's are cool to look at . But in all reality The LED's barley have any lunamits something like that . I just use a compact flo light . For maybe 4 to 6 hours then i turn it off . The light is there for the fruits to know witch way to grow . you could add more LED's....Put a pic on the post I would like to see what it looks like .

i have changed out every linght in my computer to led's

I have a friend that had excellent results using a single blue LED flexible usb light (for a laptop pc).  Very bright light and worked wonderfully.  You should have no problem using that LED.

Best of luck!

Yea, I used to work for a small robotics company, dealt with LEDs a LOT

Now, to say LEDs aren't bright is like saying that booze isn't strong. On the one hand, you've got your tequila LEDs, and on the other, you've got your american beer (dog piss) LEDs. Both are LEDs, but one is definitely more powerful than the other.

I've worked with single LEDs that can light up a dark office room (not a huge room, mind you), and I've worked with others that you can't see unless you cup your hands around them. I would believe that a couple ultra-brights could do the trick in a terrarium, especially some of the ultra-blues.
