They weren't meant to be equivalent. Isn't that obvious?

So I take it your (straight) answer to:
"Do you really believe that dying in a burning building to "campaign for better smoke detectors" is analogous to sacrificing your life for freedom?"
is yes? because they are both futile acts?
well that's open to interpretation isn't it? Who's to say that it's futile to give your life for a higher cause?
I guess some people prefer to live on their knees rather than die on their feet.

Oh yeah and I find it extremely offensive that you would call this woman an idiot.
Seeing as she just died standing up for what she believed in, and her family and friends are probably grieving this very moment. You say it's stupid to die for a cause, but you don't seem to value life very much.
Stupid people who do stupid things die...........and they should. It's Darwinism man. Less stupid genes floating around.
What if I were to stand up against the murder of ants and I got crushed by a tractor? Would you think it wasn't stupid to die for my cause?
