I still say it is a rare occurence.

I have not only picked in Florida, and Thailand but also Cambodia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Australia, Tasmania, (Palenque, Zihuatenajo, Huautla de Jimenez, Oaxaca in Mexico), Guatamala, Costa Rica, Trinidad, (central America and sopme islands in the Carribean) Colombia, Ecuador, South America, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

On the other hand I have never picked cubensis in Georgia.

I also remember Lizard King had one collection of straw compost int he ground with cubensis coming up from the soil with no manure present buyt mixed inwith the stable shavings.

In fact didn't your GGreatOne234 also post a similar fruiting of cubensis near a barn somewhere or were those the ones posted by Lizard King?

I have also on numerous ocassion asked people who say they find them in Horse manure to psot images and now four years later, still noone posts pictures of cubies growng from horse, not to say that they do not but a few images would clarify that it sometimes occurs but then again, that is still rare.

Just like your learn of castaneifolius is rare.

And Cattle are moved from paddock to paddock to feed them or there would not be enough grass to do so. I also picked ont he parker Ranch in Hawaii, almost as big as the king ranch in Texas. They have hundreds of [paddocks and cattle are moved constanly.

I studied ruminants for a year for my Thaialdn paper to learn aboput their habits.

I also work ten months at the U of h Livestock and Experimental farm on oahu's North shroe where the surf is. I know how the cattle move and the shrooms grow.

You can disagree but in twenty years form no0w you haven't learned thewse things I would not understand what you say.

And no matter how much any of us know, we can never know it all and others will take oputr places.

And even in the URL posted directly above, they too said rare in hosse manure, although horse manure and straw compost are what are used to grow them indoors after the manure has been pasturized.

I live in Georgia and one time i found cubensis growing directly out of the ground in a pasture, not on shit at all.

-Yes that is also how i remember that, but i think he may have also posted the images of them growing directly from the horse dung.

Also, mj, between my girlfriend and i we have picked possibly 100 specimens in this month of March, of the mushrooms i have for about three years now suspected to be Panaeolus castaneifolius (var. ggreatoneifolius).

-I took photos of each collection (includeing some photos of the dark black spore prints) but my floppy disk drive has not worked well with this computer ever since i got the keyboard replaced. So i wont get those up until later.

most the islands in hawaii isnt aren't as big as the king ranch man your mistaken on the size of that ranch. but you definately know your shit on mushrooms just a little off on ranches:) peace

Sorry, having roamed on 200,000 acres sure makes it feel large. but you were correct by more that 625,000 acres.
