Sorry, but that doesn't even make sense, especially when you take into account "enlightenment" can mean so many different things to different people.Quote:
Rocker232 said: I don't understand what God has to do with anything. YOU are God. I am God. So is the chair you're on.
And this is another generalization that shouldn't be stated as if its a fact.
I'm all for people having their own opinion, their own outlooks on life, but please don't present it as fact as if your enlightening everyone for the first time with these little quips of wisdom. It really gets old after awhile and a modest attitude really goes a long way .

I am not trying to be hard-nosed. We have all had experiences or feelings of oneness - but to make a generalization and say that "everything" is god, in my opinion, is shortsighted and harmful.

Again, that's an unfair generalization on your part. Is one persons mentality the same as everyone else?
Yes, trying to explain something like God to certain people may seem extremely foreign to them, virtually nothing your saying they would be able to grasp onto. But if the people have the same sort of "knowledge" or "experience" then of course what your saying will make sense to them.
Its true that Enlightenment and God may be things experienced primarily through pure feeling, but we are still able to introduce the concepts in a linear, comprehensive explanation.
If it was the case that these things were nonsensical when communicating via language then we wouldn't have thousands upon thousands of books written about spirituality.

I try to do this. But do you really think it is possible for everyone to do so perfectly? If so, everyone would essentially be the same person... and that takes us back to what has been said about God being the terminal totality/unity of its own creation

Be that as it may, you acknowledge the separation of Man.
I am not trying to define God, or debate with you the elements. Rather, I was attempting to posit that "good" and "bad" does exist and that God is not everything.

i got this neat vision on DMT of a bunch of people walkin' around like in those sims games. there was a halo of a bunch of different objects around them, each representing a piece of knowledge they had in their subconscious
all the people are walkin' around bumpin' into eachother and exchanging these objects. but when they would do the exchange the objects would transform, as each person recieving the objects from another would be interpreting it in their own way

Beautiful story man.
Quote:
lasttime said: I suspected as much. OP, God does not talk through grass man. Have you considered that you just took too many drugs and that maybe your whole spiritual journey is a delusion in itself? The more I read about "enlightened" people on these forums the more I want to stay the hell away from any more psychedelics. It's a particular bad kind of insanity because people refuse to admit it under the delusion of "enlightenment"
You have no idea what you're talking about, spirituality is about releasing yourself from the tyranny of the mind, which is where all delusions come from. It's about really stepping out on your own, free of fear, and not letting peevish little worries keep you from discovering yourself and the universe.
There is such thing as enlightenment, and there are degrees of it as well. Meditation is the most consistent method for advancing in degree, along with being here now in your being. It's right here with us all the time, if we weren't so distracted we'd all be in bliss all the time.

Ya, it's really a fucked up idea to accept but I'd imagine the idea of God, or the source of everything to be both good and bad; duality in essence. The almighty is; and I am. "The universe is hostile, so impersonal. Devour to survive, so it is and so it's always been". I have no delusions of an ultimately benevolent supreme being, and I certainly don't personify the idea of it. I mean, I'm practically crushing lower life-forms or micro-organisms with every step I take.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care. It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence. I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too. If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.
