I know very little, far from everything. I do know that the human mind is an incredibly powerful tool though, and that with nothing more than a glance at the board and preconceived notions it's more than capable of spelling words while blindfolded.
Not one time in history has a person been "destroyed" by the toy we call a Ouija board. I could definitely work myself into a hysteria, I could probably even hallucinate some weird shit, but certainly not be destroyed.
Just look at these stories. There's always a strong emotion that preceded the event, or drugs, or a dark room where were prone to see images. Sleep paralysis where dreams mesh with conscious awareness, or maybe it's a TV show trying to appear skeptical but still in it for the ratings. My mom once destroyed a valuable Sri Lankan artifact b/c she thought that all of the papers she had spread over the dining room table had flipped around to a different seat (it must be demons!).
The argument always comes up, "Well they've been reported all over the world in every country!" Of course they have, it would be more compelling if they were specific to one region or temple. When we're children those of us who recognize our parents' faces early on get a deeper connection. Those who don't bond aren't wanted. Through evolution we're selectively predetermined to recognize faces and feel a strong emotion with them. Most of us have an ability to feel people in the room we're in without seeing them. If it happens when nobody is really there, is it more reasonable to figure that your senses are off-point, or that it's the energy of a dead person remaining on earth?
I just don't buy it. Ive read the summoning chants of the Satanic Bible and the Necronomicon, hoping that something would happen. Ive played with a Ouija board before, I even hallucinated floating gold orbs that I believed were guardian angels as a child. There's no effect on the real world. No saliva left on the hand of the guy who saw the dog. Just a locked door or turned around papers that are far more likely an error or memory.

Well I didn't see the dog, just felt and heard it romping around and whimpering, felt it lick the back of my hand.
A bizarre auditory/physical illusion, or disembodied dog noises? I like the ghost dog explanation since it makes my old dog like a mythical beast come back from the land of dead to walk along side his human master!

No no, I meant the breed of the dog before it died.

IF GHOSTS ARE REAL...
What does that suggest about life after death??
I believe ghosts to be some kind of burn and or imprint of physical consciousness on the reality in which we reside. IMO.

What leads you to believe that? Not trying to be a dismissive cunt, but is there any reason other than a hunch and media influence?

Let me start off by saying i tend to think of myself as a skeptical person... I've never seen a ghost, but i do remember occasionally hearing pacing footsteps in my house when i was the only one home...
I have seen some convincing evidence in those ghost hunter/adventures etc shows (of course without any investigation into their legitimacy) so i do believe in the phenomenon of ghosts.
To anyone who watches Ghost adventures have you seen the last episode of last season? where the door closed on its own? shit was crazy...
sure it could have been faked, but i dont think it could have been wind because the door goes from motionless to flying closed way too fast..
anyways,

That's the coolest explanation for residual hauntings that I have ever heard. Mind if I use that on my lady friend the next time we're watching ghost adventures?
