Bed Comforters

OMG where have you been all my life??? I've been sleeping on a hard ass mattress since September, always waking up achy and pissed off. Then I go to walmart and see some bed comforters, so I thought fuck it might as well try it out. I buy 2 for $60, try them out, and HOLLY SHIT...it's almost like nodding out on oxy. it's like exactly what my life was missing. I'm gonna buy more comforters to see just how comfortable this bed is.
This also gets me wondering that if I could make my bed this comfortable with just a few comforters, how good could it be with those $4000 memory foam tempur pedic mattresses?

I'm pretty sure comforters are suppose to go on top of you when you sleep?

I have memory foam pads. My mattress is super firm and I take the pads off when I want the stiffness but sometimes a pad makes it nicer but makes my back hurt if its to soft.

No it says comforter on the box it came in. Wait so are mattress pads better than comforters to sleep on? I seriously forgot all about all the little things in life that make it awesome cuz I was on meth for the past couple of months only focused on work and school, and I pretty much ignored everything else.

Ummmm Idunno bout you guys but I sleep UNDER a comforter and ON TOP of a matress pad...
I also have one of those memory foam mattress pads, but its not all that they make it out to be... Its nice to use every once in a while, but if I sleep on it every night my ALREADY achy back hurts even worse

It gets way too hot for me to sleep under a bed comforter. I just have a bed sheet on top of my 2 bed comforter and a mattress pad on top of my hard ass mattress. Are there any health risks that you can get if you sleep on a bed that is too soft?

Definite back problems. You'll be waking up aching incredibly bad after a while

So do you guys cycle between softer and firmer beds, or do you always sleep on a bed of the same firmness level?

I cycle between super firm and adjust between that and 2 or 4 inches of foam. I just have the pads I put on and change them up every week or so when I put clean sheets on. I put a mattress pad over the top of them too otherwise the sheets kinda bunch up funny.

I alternate...
When I've slept on a firm matress for so long that its hurting my back, I put the pad on. When its been on so long that my back starts hurting again, I take it off.
Usually a weekly cycle. Don't know if that's any better for the health of your spine, but it sure feels better....
EDIT: My grandmother insists that if you put plywood underneath the pad, it makes it perfect... I haven't gotten around to trying that though

I hate pillows that are so poofy that you get suffocated when you drop your head into the middle..... Lyke wtf srsly? I can never really find a "perfect" pillow.... I like them soft, but when I try "soft" pillows they always do what I just described, and after a couple weeks they just go really really flat like a tortilla.... So I normally end up using two "in between" pillows

i sleep on floor because i never want to have to rely on a bed. it's better for the back anyways and it's common in Japan as well.
