1-7-11 North Carolina
Habitat: Found alone, growing from soil, in mixed, predominantly pine woods.
Pileus: 2.8cm across, orange-brown, plane to slightly depressed, smooth, moist, absorbs water Flesh same color as pileus
Lamellae: Adnexed, subdistant to distant, creamy orange-brown
Stipe: 4.2cm long, .5cm wide, orange-brown, equal but slightly enlarging at base, smooth, solid Flesh is same color as stipe.
Smell: Fungoid with hint of latex
Taste: Bland, but not bad
Spore Print: White
Spores: Globose with what appear to be small spines (?)
I was thinking some sort of Laccaria. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
Sorry about the not so great micro-shot...

They're almost all something close...
I've been trying to get to know Laccaria better, but it's a pain in the ass! Laccaria in North America

Haha, true. Thanks for the link. I think you actually gave me that link a while back, but I'm not sure. I see that it's in my bookmarked sites folder. Thanks for reminding me about it!

The full text of Mueller's monograph (which that site is based on) can be found here... it's a bit technical but full of info including keys.
