I posted those pics twice before, they were never properly identified
    #1379696 - 03/16/03 01:44 AM (21 years, 1 month ago)

First of all you should know I live in Bulgaria
Those mushrooms were found in August
This first yellow mushroom was found in cow shit as you can see.I spotted them in the lawn of my hut, where cows graze  Cows are great yo
These mushrooms were very little and grew direcly on cow manure. To me it looks like a panelous specie.

TOaD, we need more info to make an accurate ID.

What color were the spore prints?
Were any parts of the mushroom slimy, sticky, moist, etc?

If you'll post a more detailed description we'll try to ID them. Without more info we'd be guessing wildly.

Happy mushrooming!

Did youi pick them and lay them out to be photographed on a paper background. That way we could see the whole shroom.

They ae probably a stropharia.

Not panaeolus, i'd go with Psylocibe Merdaria or Moelierii. They are pretty common where i live.

P. merdaria.

What I find funny is that I have never seen this species but twice in twenty years or so, but then again I do not look for shrooms in manure int he PNW. Since most grow in the soil or muclch beds.

Anyway, It looks closer to your thant he moelleri.

Have a shroomy day,

While they may not be common in the PNW, you have to keep in mind that MAIA lives in Portugal(I think) and T0aD lives in Bulgaria, so perhaps it could be Ps. merdaria.

Things get confusing when we've got people from all over the world here

Yes for this mushroom i think we would need to see them in greater detail & with a flat backround

Also we would need to see the gills,

This mushroom is probably in-active & as Mushroom John noted, it may be a type of Stropharia

Keep shroomin,

ToxicMan :

I didnt make prints

hey this upload limit is annoying

gills

I made a serch about Stropharia Merdaria

and Psylocibe Moelierii ( found nothing in google ) and Im sure it aint one of those two.
in all books I have there is no psilocybe mushroom written there to grow. But friends of mine have tripped on Libery Caps ( my cousin too, and he described the mushroom just like it ), can they be in the books with synonims ? This also showes its not none of those two.
I may have found a new mushroom, you know  Ill have to think how to name it

Moorhsum,

They are not P. coprophila at all.

And Gmmby Dude, my coment about me not seeing them in the PNW was a response to Pauil Stamets book Psilocybine mushrooms of the world where he claimed that both were common in the Pacific Northwest and many others agreee with me that they are not.

Especially since Pauls book is currently the only book which says they are common in the PNW.

Cap shape very different,

That's a dried mushroom which died before opening the whole cap, it's a natural occurrence. When the climate becomes suddenly dry, the sun dries the cap and it shrinks, so the gills get all wrinkled.

The specimens of the same species can be very different. That's why we need more information not just pictures.
Compare this pictures of Amanita phalloides. They're much more different that your mushroom & S. semiglobata.

hope we identify these :smile:Hey as I now think of when hunting for them, and founding one that looks active and is beautiful and sacred, this moment is a trip!!!! :laugh:Love dem shrooms
On the pictures there are 4 kind of mushrooms, I will describe them by the first pic

[1]The five biggest shrooms on the left.
I pickede them on a grassy pathway near pastures.I have not made spore prints from any of those.
[2]The three little darker ones,down left from 1 .
I found them growing directly on dung,in a very moist place - a forest, on a pathway there.
Right nex to them 3 grew. The whiter thin little shrooms. I remember this mushroom being identified by MAIA but what was is exactly ?myco... ...?
The creamy 4 ones dont look active to me. I found them in a cow pasture.

Not a good idea. That's a suicidal procedure.
I said "it could be", which means that it's more likely that it isn't.
Next time you'll pick them, make many pictures & prints, post them here and if you get an 100% positive ID then you eat them.

I've seen this picture before, and it was inconclusive for me...

From all the subbalteatus I've seen, the cap was much more convex, and flat. There were no ridges on the margin, and the stalks were much shorter and thicker.

The shape does not resemble a P. subbalteatus. However, the coloration does resemble them quite a lot. The dark reddish stem, with white fibrils, and the two-toned cap, and structure/color of the gills look all too familiar... But, the shape is NOT.

I think its probably a P. campanulatus more than a P. subbalteatus... just me 2 cents
