It's really fun and it allows you to play freely, but be advised, if you take a large amount you might not be able to hold onto the guitar much less focus on playing, When I'm playing and tripping a bit more than I should be, my arms feel heavy and I must drop them to my sides, If anything I'm too relaxed to tense my muscles enough to hold onto the pick or guitar, try a light dose first, there's no need to consume a large amount, that is if you plan on being able to function

fun, dont go into it with preconceived notions about what it should feel like, just experience it.

If I have a 1/3rd 1/8th, I'll play guitar all night and video tape the experience.... some very good riffs have been found. If I have more than that, or mix alcohol/etc - I usually end up playing for about 20 minutes before findings something else to do... just too scatter brained IMO.

Let me say this... guitar on mushrooms is AMAZING. Beyond words. Spiritual. I'm most productive at the 2-3 gram range and after that things start to get a bit confusing.

I have a pretty good understanding of the guitar; scales, keys, modes, chords, ect... but mushrooms somehow enhance what I already know to almost godlike states.

Another thing is that my adrenaline starts to boil when i'm playing a song and i'm often in absolute ecstacy while playing. If you're a musician, love your instrument and are familiar with it... tripping with it is one of the best things you can do.

Its really awesome on a low dose, where you can still work your fingers properly, and maintain a somewhat steady stream of consciousness. But on an eighth...My fingers feel retarded, my hands are too big and the guitar feels out of proportion.

Personally, I like playing bass more when I'm on mushrooms.

Guitar is awesome to, but It seems like my guitar skills go to shit when I'm tripping, while my bass skills stay the same if not better. I can just get into and feel bass a lot easier on shrooms.

That makes sense, bass is a lot more simple...One note at a time

I'm guitar oriented personally, but bass isn't necessarily "more simple than guitar"

The bassist I jam with plays a 6 string and he frets full chords just like a guitarist would... he's basically fretting these massive strings while using three fingers and occasionally a thumb to pick the strings indiviually. The way he plays is very physically demanding and very complex... then again he's a madman! Haha

But still bassists don't get enough credit... probably because in popular music the bassist usually pedals the root note. But an instrument can be as simple or as complex as you make it...

Guitar is definitely a lot tricker to get the hang off than bass. Certain techniques take years to master or even get good at.

But bass is a lot more complicated than it looks when you get into the more technical stuff.

i agree with subconscious an instrument is as simple or complex as you make it. it's just a matter of your style of playing

For sure, it's all what ya make it. Comparing the two, I think, isn't fair to either instrument. Have you ever heard Victor Wooten?

Simply amazing.

On my last trip me and a friend, where both alright guitarists so we got our acoustics out to jam.
We played some pink floyd, and I swear I could taste the notes like right in the back of my mouth.

Then I messed with the tuning of the guitar and I was blown away by the harmony of tuning a guitar. I related myself and my life to the wide spectrum of music contained in each single note, and that my purpose is to be in tune with all the other notes in the universe.

Music in general is usually cool on shrooms, but creating music is really something else.
I felt like what I was playing at that point in time was actually all my feelings coming out of me and being put into a source of beauty, and that this moment of musical harmony in life would only happen right at that second. Once it was played, to me the notes where gone to a place far away, the song had been written and I would never re-write it because thats how it was.
It seemed like such a simple idea while tripping though :P

I played my acoustic a bit the last time I shroomed. I remember running through the scales one note at a time, feeling the vibrations and understanding that it's all patterns. It sounded so deep and beautiful... then I missed a note

funny enough, my girlfriend and I tripped last night. I tried to play guitar and sing as usual, and it was a fight!!! hilarious tho, I seriously pounded that damn string box and belted lyrics like Elvis - interestingly enough, it sounded pretty similar to elvis in his later years :P

I've combined the two many times.  It's the best way to practice I've ever found, and be sure you record your jams, as when you listen to them later you'll get the same visuals/realities back as when you were playing them.  Totally rocks.:headbanger:

Also, one thing I found (what makes it so awesome for practice) is you can "step back" from what you're playing and watch it while you're doing it, this really helps if you're working on technique!  Plus your creative juices are flowing and the music takes on massive qualities.

Peace
