Bruising or contam? pics
    #1377359 - 03/15/03 04:36 AM (14 years, 3 months ago)

My casings went through about two flushes. Now the tops of the casings and the bottom of some of the shrooms seem to be a green/blue color. I was trying to tell if it was contam or not. It doesn't look like a growth, it looks more like bruising. Is this normal in the last flushes of the casing?

here you can see the bottom of the shrooms looking blue/green. Is this bruising or what? (Some of the top of the casing also looks that color but it is hard to see.

Same here, it is looking blue/green in certian spots. Not like green contam I've seen though. Is this normal, do cakes turn some bruising colors when used up?

Also, after my seconf flush I had almost all aborts. Is this due to the dryed up casings? Most of my shrooms aborted or grew very small.

It's normal for them to bruise after a flush but you should be dunking them in between flushes so you reduce those aborts your getting. I couldn't see any contaminants on the cakes so your fine.

it looks like it *SHOULD* be fine... some brusing isnt a big deal...i'd still isolate it from other cakes/casings though just in case it goes bad
