the dalai lama is giving another kalachakra initiation in july, in washington d.c. - but unfortunately i don't think i'll be attending
what's neat about this initiation in particular is that in the kalachakra tantra it says that in the year 2432 or around there there will be a major world war between a righteous buddhist side and a violent religious population, which many people claim refers to islam. it's said that the righteous side will be made up of people who have received the kalachakra initiation - so the dalai lama gives this initiation frequently and to very large crowds (200,000 at times). getting the initiation is therefore seen as a way of ensuring you'll be on the right side for this prophesized war, should it occur, heh
do you do the kalachakra yoga tantra practice any more?
No. I hang a Kalachakra sand mandala framed poster over the computer table, and I keep a copy of The Wheel of Time Sand Mandala book on the low puja table, along with statues of White Tara, Mahakala & consort Shri Devi, and Avalokiteshvara.

Light and darkness just makes gray. Luminous darkness has a living quality, and energetic [?]. Definitely, not nothing.
I like that aswell
