Remember people COnoc ybe cyanopus is up right now along grassy areas by streams and riverbanks.

I have never looked for that mushroom maybe i will have to take a little walk when the rain lets up and see what i can find. Do you know if these grow better up in the foot hills streams or would i have a better chance looking down around the puget sound area? Thanks for any advice

In your book, it says you have only found this speicies 2 times in the past twenty years. Have they become more abundant or are tehy still very rare?

IT is a rare shroom but then I do not look for it. I look fopr blue ringers, baeos, Psilocybe cyanescens, etc, liberty caps, becaue they are common and plentiful.

We also sometimes will find one or two Copelandia's here in the pugot sound area but then that is all. not predominant and never more than a few.

However, remember last year, Joshua found a rare lawn of panaeolus subbalteatus in Eugene, Oregon or somewhere in Oregon. Very rare. in manure here very rare, but in compost heaps and haystacks very common.

I found maybe a total of ten or so Paneolus subbalteatus here in Kent in manure. and never again.

But when i went to hawaii they were plentiful in one field only in manure. That was on Maui up near Polipoli road olong Kula Highway.

On oahu, I found maybe ten or so small ones on the north shore of Oahu and a feww one year in manure at Kualoa Ranch.

No one knows why these shrooms never become annual in certain locations or plentiful in some and never in others.

Its liek I have look in hundreds of pastures around the globe where there were never any magic shrooms, and thenone day you hit a field and boom, they are all over.

Sometimes they grow tow to three years and disappear for sevceral uyears in certain padoocks where they constanly change the feeding habits of thei ruminants.

Conocybe cyanopus is a very tiny small fragile mushroom which grows no higher than an average of 2 1/2 to 3 inches in hight. They are conical and cinnamon colored with small cone like caps with a visable striate margin and the stem is a clear kinda watery substance of color with a slight bulbous base when you lift it from the ground which is usually an azure blue color.

They grow along streams and riverbaknks inthe PNW along with Conocybe smithii, slightly a little larger. For all I know they could all really be the same species.

But I have never found the c. smithii shr0ooms.
dosage is about 60 to 75 fresh little shrooms weighing approx. 1/3 of a fresh ounce. They are tiny and fragile.

Growing from sphaghum moss along streams and riverbanks.
