Wait a sec, if your body breaks it down and then excretes it, then your pee isn't potent (unless it breaks it down to something also psychoactive)

the thing with aminitas, is your body DOESN'T break it down for the most part, so the chemical can keep going through your body.

i think that guy talking about the indians doens't know what he is talking about.

No, it only works with Amanitas, this guy who wrote the book probably didn't know the difference between the mushhrooms

Anybody who would drink their own pee for a trip has a problem. :smile: I'm sure that your question is purely out of curiosity, but my guess would be that your pee would not be psycoactive at all.

Kind of ironic that you posted here psilo-wiz lol. Anyways, tat is only with amanita muscaria/ pantherina mushrooms. Also, the tribes in siberia have been using the amanitas for thousands of years and they save their urine after eating the mushrooms so that when winter rolls around and theres no ushrooms growing, they can still "trip"

jonathan ott did not confuse amanitas with a psilocybe. im at least sure of that. it would still be psychoactive because, as i understand it, the psilocybin is broken down into psilocin (which is also a psychoactive compound).
i will go find the actual section of the book and post it...

This idea is just gross. However I had an idea. Instead of drinking you piss mabey you could but it in something and let it evaporate then scrape up the residue and put it into a gel cap and ingest it that way. Not that I would ever even think of trying something this insane.

As far as I know, this only works with ibotenic acid found in some Amainta varietys. As far as psilo(cin)cybin containing mushrooms, this will not work. Your right when you say that psilocybin is broken down into psilocin after ingestion. But your wrong in thinking that psilocin is then excreted by the urinary tract. Psilocybin itself is not active. Somehow after ingestion, the psilocybin compound is changed into psilocin. Then most all of the psilocin is absorbed by you or food in your stomach and you "tryp". I'm pretty sure that all psilocin is out of your system within a max of 24 hours after the "tryp" ends(same goes for LSD)

Maybe one-half the mushroom psychoactives are absorbed in the gut, but that leaves you with the unpleasant contemplation of recouping the loss via eating, not drinking.
And psilocin, which is what you get after the psilocybin is stripped of a phosphorus group, is unstable, especially in water.
And though there is a delightful tradition among some East Indians of urine ingestion, it is done for health reasons.

here it is, Jonathan Ott, "Pharmacotheon" page 282:
"After ingestion, psilocybine is dephosphoylated to psilocine, which then evokes psychoptic effects, and is sunsequently excreted substantially unaltered in the urine (Blashcko & LEvine 1960; Bocks 1967; Gilmour & O'Brien 1967; Horita 1963; Horita & Weber 1961, 1962; Kalbere et al. 1962). Psilocine ingested by iteself will produce identical effects and, lacking the inactive phosphoryl group of psilocybine, is about 1.4 times the potency - that is, it has equimolar potency (Wolbach, et al. 1962)."

this is all it says. i dunno what this means really but it seems to be saying that you can trip off your urine. i have *never* heard that before about psilocybe mushrooms so i kinda doubt it. can someone tell me wtf is going on here?

psilocin breaks down rapidly and the potency of the urin would wane shortly after excreation. thats what i would guess. lovely idea! whoever it was who said to evaporate the piss and encapsulate it! nothing like evaporating piss to start of the weekend
