My thoughts exactly.
In my mind's eye, ultimately the good and the evil are one in the same.
Existence.
How could the universal force triumph over itself?
In time all that is "evil" and "good" will be shed like an old reptile skin to reveal a brilliant new covering for the thing(s) inside that unify all life.

I'm reminded of a phrase that I read is the fundamental tenet of Hinduism...

tat tram asi
"That (that subtle being of which this whole universe is composed) art thou."

Well, Zoroastrian dualism maintained that Good would finally conquer/transform evil; and Christian theology says that Good has already (that is to say, in Reality, which transcends time) triumphed over evil. However, the unfolding of that Eternal Truth and Goodness that takes place IN time - takes time! The moral imperative is Known among mankind, but humans fail to embody it. It is here and now, but is usually rejected by humans. This is one of the cosmic meanings in the story about Jesus, who was rejected, despised, tortured and executed. We treat the Good pretty much the same within our own individual psyches - violently suppressing our Higher Nature in preference of the selfish, the merely instinctual (animal) life, or the underworldly life (both criminal and demonic).

without good, there would be no evil and vice versa..so in that sense, good and evil are dependent upon each other...

but if you look at it another way, evil/good are products of the human conscience, and nothing more. a paticular idea/action just simply exists until the individual human mind concieves or judges it as being good or evil...

umm so basically, the yin-yang thing

I think we live in a reality so far from god that everything appears this dualistic in a shell so ungod-like. Given enough time and pressure, we will get there. Eventually right will prevail over wrong. Who knows how long .. I'm too devolved to know what to listen for.

hmmm... i think you should formulate the question a little different... it should be: "will good ultimately defeat evil - on THIS planet?" and i think yes... definitely... but as for an universal view, evil is necessary to appreciate what is good (its a part of existance), so there will still be planets out there on a lower evolution plane, where evil will be part of the everyday life... this allows the societies that are on a higher evolutionary plane to remember what evil is like so that they dont have to choose it again in order to appreciate and experience the good...

I think we would be much much farther along on this planet had we not allied with Lucifer. The "fruit" or freedom he offered us was bunk. I think God put him up to it anyways. The two of them are just fucking with us.

my oppinion has always been that the serpents fruit, the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, was really conciousness. He gave us thought and free will, and we realized our nakedness. Before we were in a way mindless creatures of god. But the price of conciousness is expulsion from the garden of good and evil. With out intelligence and awareness we are able to ascend to the highest stages of enlightenment. With the serpents gift we have produced Beings like the buddha and the christ, people who are perfect manifestations of conciousness. But we also built the nucleur bomb and started the crusades. We produced gandhi and aldolph hitler.

unfortunatey it sometimes seems as though humans produce alot more hitlers than gandhis, which is why i feel like on the scale of human affairs, evil may well triumph over good. However, the existance of good on a universal scale can never be extinguished by something as insignifigant as our monkey politics.

so what can you do really. my mind is lost in stoned fog and sublime music so ill come back and check if this makes any sense later. peace
