Bread Mold

I appologize if this is off topic but I have a couple questions that someone here might be able to answere. This morning before work I grabbed a piece of bread (Whole Weat) on the way out my door. Tonight, (about 10hrs later) I grabbed the same loaf to make myself a sandwich (PB&J of course). There were two slices left. When I went to open the bag I noticed A LOT of green mold on the two last slices. My questions are: ~Why does mold seem to grow on breed that is older or aged (ie...its always on the last pieces)? ~Do you think the spores entered the bag this morning when I grabbed a piece or do you think the mold was already growing in the bag at the time (I might have even had a bit and not noticed)? ~The mold is growing in the back of the bag (it a normal wonder bread loaf). If spores entered from me or someone in my household, why didn't the mold start on the frontside of the exposed piece of bread...why on the back side of the last piece? ~Why doesn't mold grown on fresh bread...new loafs?
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. I'm just trying to figure out more of how these things live and thrive. I went to the library today and checked out some books...hopefully i'll gain a bit more knowlege soon.

The chemical compounds that prevent the bread from getting infected oxidate with time, faster if you leave the bag opened. Floor is the one carrying those compounds.

The second part is more probable.

The answer to the first question can also justify this process. The exaustion of conservative compounds is a gradual process, once done, you've probably eaten the most part of the bread already, only what's left will get contaminated.

Unless of course it the mold is A. Niger, in which case you might be the one to become toast... well, more likely sick than toast.
