Should I reuse my perilite?

I have 2 bags of perilite that have been wet/dry quite a few times. I used the fruiting chamber to keep a few cloned plants moist this summer, and I noticed an ant in there (which I immediately pulled out and smashed).
The water that was in there had peroxide in it originally, and then any water added to it from there on out didn't.
I'm worried about using it as-is because it has sat around for so long. I'm going to be sterilizing the whole fruiting chamber with iso alcohol, but should I attempt to reuse the perilite? It looks clean enough...should I just rinse it and bake it to sterilize, or what would you guys do?
(I know this has been asked a bunch of times, but usually only by people who used it as a fruiting chamber, not a multi-use chamber. Thanks so much.)

Super recycled perlite probably isn't the greatest idea, but baking and thoroughly rinsing it would probably be fine....Next trip to the store i'd stock up man lol

I'd try some in the PC in a jar. If it survives I'd PC it all. don't pop the weight though, it'll probably just powder.
explosive decompression.

If you're worried, chuck it in the oven at 180°C (350F for you yanks). Perlite wont suffer from the heat but it'll kill whatever's on there.
Just be sure not to use a fan forced oven! The perlite will blow around everywhere

That was my plan (baking it).
I think I'm gonna go ahead and take the risk with it...unless I can come up with another excuse to drive into town that would make the trip worth it.
Thanks!

Well I found myself in the same situation just a while ago here, had my perlite in the PC for the last couple hours, pressure almost back to normal, I'll let you know if it turned to powder.

It doesn't matter how many times you reuse it as long as it not all powderized. Just boil or bake it and it will be fine. You don't need to sterilize it.

Right, I just meant pressure cooking isn't needed. I should've worded that better.

Well anyway the perlite survived 2 hours in the PC.
I feel better about it, it had a good soak and I can't imagine how many cookie sheets I'd have to cover to bake it all.
Also my PC is the biggest pot I have, why boil for 2 hours in my PC when I can just put the lid on and keep the steam in?
I got it draining thru the vent hole now, just popped the weight off and flipped it over with the lid on. Gonna fill the SGFC as soon as it's cool enough to stick my hands in.
