I find this pretty alarming, what are your thoughts?
What is the recourse for people to free a government from control of multinational corporations?

Change the government? I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun times being a revolutionary in Nigeria. I'll keep a casket open for ya.

I'm a proud owner of shares of Shell oil company. I want the oil companies to take over the entire continent of Africa while paying me higher dividends. Africans owe me something for all the robbing and car jacking that they do, as well as all those Nigerian scams.

Domite,
Wikileaks also confirmed the attempts of Pfizer to manipulate the Nigerian justice system, by blackmailing the Attorney General, in order to keep from having to compensate families for the eleven kids Pfizer killed with an experimental drug it tried on the vulnerable population there that was suffering a menengitis epidemic.
Multinationals like Shell and Pfizer are more powerful than governments, and, frankly, have purchased our government, too. Pfizer was found guilty and admitted to defrauding the US govt of billions of dollars. Get it, they are an admitted corporate felon. But they paid a great big fine ($2.4 billion) and they keep on keeping-on with both D's & R's in their back pocket.
The US is a corporatocracy. Republican rabble are manipulated to believe that Big Government, Left Wing Socialists and Obama are their enemies. Democrat rabble are manipulated to believe that the DNC are on their side and really trying to get the goodies for the working and middle classes, while perpetually pulling the bait-and-switch. The Supreme Court is also in on the act. The rabble are propagandized through public education and corporate owned media to believe this is a good or acceptible state of affars.
But, oh well. The truth is, they're more powerful than us. Better for your mental health to ignore them as much as you can, focus on the more important things such as family and your dog, or whatever. I, for example, live in the Midwest, but I don't claim to be an American, and so I'm not. There are people who would encourage me to be grateful for my American comfort and ease. There are people who say I should be ashamed of it because it is founded on the backs of miserable low wage workers. It's not my fault or my credit that I was born here, and I am not powerful enough to change it, so I can accept neither attitude. The focus, I remind myself, should be more personal, but I slip into these political observations anyway. Oh well.
