yea i think thats it....go over to iraq or afghanistan and see how you feel over there fighting people that look like civilians. i guarantee you will try to find some inane excuse to get a decent laugh over there just so you can have a little bit of joy in this fucking excuse for a war.
yes because choosing to enroll in the military only to realize just how fucking real it is is ABOSLUTELY an excuse to pick on kids half your age who are already off much worse than you.
and yes, those kids are off much worse than the soldiers. i'm not about to get into numbers and the whole discussion of deaths but it's well known that we've killed millions of iraqi/afghan civilians just in collateral damage.
our soldiers are safer than their civilians, this is fact. and being a soldier in this shitty war does not allow you to fuck with kids like that.
and it's not like i'm pulling all of this out of my ass. i've had a few friends come back from the war injured, none of my buddies overseas have died. THANK GOD. but i've talked to alot of soldiers in all different branches of the military and i can assure every single one of them would agree with me on this matter.

damn...and ive been called a dumbass...you fell from the tree and hit every branch on the way down didnt you? people dont always join the military by choice you know.
and if you think the kids are worse off than the soldiers i beg to differ, but you are allowed your opinion. and another thing...where do you get your numbers from iraqbodycount? so you have friends that went to war...and they would agree with you on this matter? that wouldnt be because they are your friends now would it???

lol i like how you have to result to talking shit now. great discussion we have here...
obviously i dont know the real number of deaths which is why i said i don't want to get into it cause nobody really knows, and it's not really that relevant anyway.
i understand the iraqbodycount's death toll of 1+ million casualties is a mostly bullshit number but i do believe the real numbers certainly going to be much higher than the 5,000 or so soldiers we've lost in iraq.
the soldiers i know would agree with me not because they're my friends, but because they aren't selfish self righteous assholes who feel like they should take out their angst/depression from the war out on 12 year old citizens that they should be protecting, and frankly i can't believe that's your excuse for how those soldiers behaved.
in fact my uncle who thankfully has retired after 12 years of service spent about a year in iraq. one day on patrol they found a kid who he says must've been no more than 8-10 years old who got caught in a crossfire and had shrapnel stuck in his abdomen and the metal was so deep they had to cut inside and around his stomach/intestines to remove the bullets. my uncle had to help hold the boys skin in place while the surgeons did what they could to help the boy out. i believe the kid lived but it's been awhile since i've talked to my uncle about that.
honestly i'd like to see you have this discussion with him and see where that goes... no I personally haven't been overseas and I honestly have never even fired a gun in my life. but I don't have to in order to have enough common sense to see picking on some 12 year old iraq citizens as cruel and immoral. SORRY if your values are different, just goes to show how varied humans are in their opinions and how fucking cruel people can be to their fellow man.

War is hell. If you haven't been there, its an abstraction reserved for your gaming consoles. If you have, you can no longer relate to those who haven't.
I was injured in iraq in 2007, and I love some of these bullshit responses from users who appear to be sheltered, american youth who espouse bleeding heart rhetoric across teh interwebs while they live on their parent's dime.
Trust me, all that idealistic bullshit flies out the window somewhere in your later 20's.

i think we all know that if bullets started flying the soldiers would be protecting the kids....not teasing them harmlessly with a bottle of water.
and personally i think what your uncle did was great and heartwarming...however can you 100% say that a soldier who teases a kid with a bottle of water wont do the same? Did your uncle not find a way to amuse himself in his many tours of duty? why dont you ask him about that. im sure the stories about him pushing kids guts back in there stomach is much more exhilarating then saying i drove really fast and tied a rope to a bottle of water and dragged it behind some iraqis.
