T. Bridgesii...

I'm ordering my very first batch of Cacti in a few days, I was pretty much set on Bridgesii but the more I read, the more I find that people say it's "darker" or more "sinister" than Pedro or Torch.
It could just be certain individuals, but I've no idea. Has anyone else experienced this?

It depends on the persons set and the setting they're taking it in. Cactus will show you the joys of heaven and the deepest bowels of hell. Often during the same journey.

Yep, I know a thing or 2 about set and setting. Some of the reports I read basically stated that in a side by side comparison, bridgesii was always "darker".

Never heard anything about bridgesii being "dark". It can get intense though. It's definitely a very interesting ride full of tricks.
Last time I ate some bridgesii I would be looking at something and then all of a sudden the edges of everything would kind of blur together and everything would kind of morph around into unimaginable nuttiness.
Picture what it'd be like to pour water all over a finished water color painting. Then as soon as the image becomes washed out someone then proceeds to shake it up and blur everything every which way.
At first it was kind of scary I guess and I thought I could stop it by looking in a different direction. Then it would happen all over again, and again and again. Large rocks would turn into talking faces and the sand would turn into a swimming pool. Finally I figured out that laying on my back on the ground and looking up into the clouds was the best way to let go. Clouds are amazing on cactus!
Anyways, to get back on topic, it certainly could be "dark" for you. But I suggest eating it early morning and being outside in some warm sunshine. Everything will glow and flow

Cool, it'll probably be at a state park in a rented cabin on a totally free weekend, so I'm not too worried about intensity, I honestly need a trip, Michigan winters can get to you if you let them.
Unless someone chimes in and confirms the "dark" thing I'll be purchasing bridgesii!

I've heard that mentioned, but I don't think there's any truth behind it. For me, bridgesii was incredibly loving and empathetic and ecstatic, a lot like what people describe ecstasy being. I can't imagine it going south.

Yeah I wouldn't read too much into the "dark" trend. It may seem that way in trip reports but I can assure you it will still be able to show you the absolute bliss mescaline can offer. The different effects are probably attributed to the extra alkaloids, which can create a more sedating experience.
I would go for the Bridgesii since in my mind you would get a broader spectrum of what the cactus has to offer compared to say San Pedro which is mainly just mescaline, though I definitely want to give SP a try as well so take that with a grain of salt.
It will probably be different, but not necessarily in a bad way. Just let the cactus flow through you and you'll be set. Happy trails!

Every cactus is a different plant. But pedro usually isn't as sedative as bridgesii. I've had experience with cactus juice, and eating the skins (once). Any way slice it you won't be disappointed with the right dose.

All of my experiences with bridgesii have definitely been "wilder" and more difficult to cognize than my experiences with Pedro, which tend to be more relaxing and contemplative. I wouldn't say it's darker, though. It can definitely be confusing in the same way that acid, mushrooms or even marijuana affects some people. This is as opposed to SP, which until you get to the really strong doses seems to leave one's ability to understand that they're tripping intact. Bridgesii has less of that MDMA-like euphoria IME, too - this can make it a lot harder for some people to relax and let go as reality starts to appear "unfamiliar".
Also, I think the fact that smaller doses of bridgesii tend to get you more loaded than similar doses of other cacti might have something to do with people having negative experiences. If one took what would be a decent dose for SP or Peruvians (25-50 dried grams or 1-2ft wet) when using bridgesii instead, their trip will probably be much, much more intense... and they might not be particularly ready for that.

I plan on doing a tea with 1 ft, if for some reason we end up with pedros, it'll be 18 inches to 2 ft.
