Did you try to get the spore prints on black and white paper? If they're blewits the print won't show up well on white.
They do look like blewits from the pics to me, but not enough for me to be sure. Wait for more input before you eat them.

Ok. Concerned with not getting a print because they are all starting to dry out.

Those look like blewits. If they print buff pink or lavender then that's what they are. If they print a cinnamon or rusty brown color they are cortinarius.
Did you find any babies of this mushroom? If so- look at the underside of the cap. If there is a web-like veil they are cortinarius.
To print caps that are drying out, place the cap on paper or tinfoil gill-side down. Put a few drops of water (like 2 drops) on the cap and cover with a drinking glass to trap in the moisture.

Nope no cortina. I printed them on white paper and just checked again, they did print but it looks almost pure white. I can just see like a ghostly white image of a print. Now I know this would be the smart thing to do but is it necessary to print them all?... I found them all in the same conditions and threw out any big ones/ ones that werent really purple.

That sounds like a blewit print. I'd say that as long as they were all growing in the same patch they are probably all safe. I usually only print 1 or 2 out of a patch when I find them to make sure. To be 100% sure you should probably do all of them but blewits are notoriously hard to print, especially the older ones.

The pictures are crap but they look like blewits to me. The first couple definitely are so the rest probably are but if you wanna place safe and print then go ahead.

If they are in fact blewits and you do eat them, make sure you cook them thoroughly.

They're good fried in butter but I think next year I'm gonna try using them in a pizza topping.

not sure if you've already placed your bets considering this was posted 12 hours ago, but I just found some blewits on monday and today, got a confirm from my botany prof (PhD who extensively studied mycology as well), and I'm positive the younger specimens with close-up pics are C. nuda. as someone else mentioned, be sure you cook them. (has anyone tried them raw?)
If I had that collection, I would toss the old ones (or any of them that I was uncertain of) after getting some good pics of them from multiple angles and see if I could find another similar patch with varying degrees of maturity. once we have a bit more experience in recognizing their stages of development, we can eat more of them!
Still though, you might get a post from someone who already knows their life cycle and confirm all of them as blewits.
Enjoy!

I know their lifecycle pretty well and have hunted and found them loads. The pictures are still crap, though.
I've not tried eating them raw because wiki told me not to.

They were found in multiple patches throughout GGP. I'm pretty sure they're the same because in one patch I could see the different stages of growth. Unless a poisonous look alike grows alongside them they should all be C nuda( because in each patch, stages of growth, I found at least one small that was a perfect match of C nuda) But just to be safe, i'm only going to eat the 3-4 small ones. If the bigger ones are them I can wait untill i'm more skilled. These suckers were everywhere.
