Help finding reticle for Microscope
    #13651806 - 12/18/10 01:04 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Hey all, I have a Bausch and Lomb microscope that ive been using for sometime now. I never had a reticle in the eyepiece and ive now exhausted what i can do with out  taking accurate measurments. Ive been looking online for one but im not sure what to look for or where to look. My scope is a bausch and lomb but i can find no markings for model # or anything other than a capital "STA" under the B&L logo. Help? I really like the grid style i see in Alans micrographs.

This is a picture of it if it helps.

The eyepieces are pretty standard so its likely that any reticle you get will work.  Check the diameter, I think they are usually 23mm.

There is a place that sells just reticles (the little plastic disk you put in any eyepiece) but I do not remember who they are.

You can get a new eyepiece w/ reticle for about $30 on ebay.

You will also want to borrow a stage micrometer to calibrate it.

Thanks! Good to know the eyepieces are universal-ish. I was having a hard time deciphering all the measurments and differences while browsing online stores.
