Sp. Hyoscyamus
    #1365032 - 03/11/03 07:36 AM (15 years, 2 months ago)

I got some Hyoscyamus Aureus seeds. I made a search and found nothing
I opened the books about plants I have and found that 2 species are native to Bulgaria :
Hyoscyamus Niger
and rarely found,Hyoscyamus Albus.
The effects after intoxication are described as dry mouth, having trouble swallowing, dilated pupils,...,higher temperature,..., psycho- and motor excitement with hallucinations and delirium.
The chemical contents were alkaloids and others I cant translate.
This is interesting : There is possible poisoning by eating honey, gathered from  Hyoscyamus Niger(Albus), Datura and Belladonna flowers, called 'drunk honey'. But lets call it 'insane honey'
It seems to have the similar/same alkaloids as datura and belladonna.
When I have the opportunity, Ill try to make insane honey
I couldnt find any information about Hyoscyamus Aureus, the seeds I have so if you know something, share

They are similar to henbane. Very similar as far as chemical makeup.

Are you sure you want to ingest tropanic alkaloids? A kid here ingested Jimson pods and tripped for 3 days. He had to go to the hospital after 1 day. He knocked his brain loose and has no short term memory now.

If tropanes are your thing, please do so knowing what you are doing, the dosage, and taking responsibility for your actions. If you know what you are doing and do it responsibly, I apologize for undermining your intentions.

I don't think YOU can make the honey. I think you have to let bees do their thing with the flowers from the tropanic plants.

I know what 'trip' gives you datura mandrake and belladonna give you.

And I think I can force the bees do their thing , making a little hive in a little hothouse full with those three plants :smirk:

i've never seen a hyocyamus spp plant on first hand but i've seen lots of H. niger on pictures and i was very attracted by it but more because of it's look!
about the alkaloids in it, i think they're rather better for intestinal upsets than for tripping or getting high... (never tried to trip on tropanic plants but i always use scopolamine pills to shut down my bowels when they're agitated lol)...
