Enokitake on dowels (From Anno's spore print).

As soon as this mushroom received light, it turned brown...
Before, he was white. Anyone noticed this ?
Pleurotus eryngii (From grocery store)

Could it be possible for a Pleurotus ostreatus not to fruit?
I've cloned one from the grocery store, a long time ago, and I've tried 3-4 times to make it fruit. I have a small bag (1-2 kg) colonized with oyster mycelium. It has light, air exchanges (holes in the bag), humidity...

Dowels inoculated with grain spawn.
I have other jars (with supplemented sawdust) fruiting right now.
The eryngii is growing on rye. :smirk: I already harvested it once !!

enokitake are best for eating before they have opened at ALL, when the caps are still bulbous.

I have grown them twice and found that they fruit much more prolificly if given a nice large fruiting area, and i used wood chips and oats as a substrate. Maybe i'll take pics next time i grow them.

Very nice! You have to tell us how they tasted!
BTW at what temps and humidity did you grow them?
