I have to like the idea.

Tilting my jars to the point where my short needles can
reach the LC has never been an option....I do not trust
the lids....

I usually end up pouring some LC into a small/clean bowl to use.

Clearly, I would be lost without my flow hood!

I look forward to the design.

(and some plastic lids and whatman filters...that would do too)

We should all just start using longer needles!

Cool tek though, I don't have half the supplies though so I won't be making any

I would be interested if you assembled it, or at least gave me the parts to do so!

I would honestly only need 2 or 3 at most for my needs, Id be willing to test the first kit/instructions for you

and I'll  pay for them obviously,

If you do decide to get this idea going drop me a :pm: because the lids are great, really innovative!

Hmmmm, I didn't realize you were doing this to make a buck.

Personally, I don't see tilting that big of a deal. Especially considering the cost.

IMO the money would be better spent on stir bars or a stir plate instead of using broken glass or marbles, which doesn't really work.

No, at this point I'm trying to save people a buck so everyone can have these.  If you DIY the improved design, it's going to be expensive unless you can buy the components wholesale.

You can DIY the OD (original design) reasonably on your own if you are building several lids, going by the tek.  Everything is there to get started.  The OD works great....

Do you want to spend $75 to buy all the components, for the improved design, at retail prices instead of buying them from me close to wholesale for $10?

Well...  It's your money.

If you are happy where you are at, please don't change...

Sorry if I come off sounding like I'm knockin' ya'. It's not my intentions. :peace:

It really is a neat design and it shows you've put a lot of thought into it.

I just finished making my Econmoical Version of your design using a various mixture of teks

I have no idea whether it will work or not , Looks plausible, the needle cap is a little dirty though, Ill rinse it with rubbing alcohol to clean it, its basically a blue syringe cap RTV'ed in a hole and then a syringe cap RTV'ed onto the stubby blue syringe cap , it seals on the top with a red BD luer lok seal

It's sturdy, made right.. Certainly better than tacking RTV through a stopper and the materials will hold up a long time..

(damn I wasn't too far off eh? :hehehe:)

It's even better for a glovebox.. That can already be awkward I imagine... Thinking outloud...

Personally I think you have every right to sell your work.. I challenged your design because I don't think everybody being able to do it or afford it should keep you from building the best possible thing you can.. If you can take something that would cost 50 bucks and charge me 10 for it, that's a good service to the community and it does look tits so.. good thinking..

That being said, it shouldn't cost that much .. It doesn't need a whatman filter.. Tube doesnt need to be brass (which corrodes somethin nasty btw.. steel all the way), etc... But if I could build the lid for the same price as you could sell it to me with superior components then naturally I'd buy from you.. right?

Anyway.. All in all I'd say you've got a great project on your hands.. Even though it could use a little refinement, I'd say you've set yourself above any lame duck naysayer and took it up a notch.. Deserves kudos so :super:

Interested to see how it evolves..

I use the 3" steel runners outta old cd-rom drives cut down down to half inch and quarter inch, as bars for my home made stirer.

They sit quite happily at the bottom of the jar dead central, Im sure this design wouldnt affect the atuostir, unless Im missing something?

Just use a heavy small bar, still gonna mash up that myc?
