My pal recently through out a container in the snow about 4 days ago. The weather where he is, is around 3 degrees outside. If he brought it indoors would it come back to life and fruit?

Sorry most of you don't own a house because your so imature. Grow up then answer the question. If Hamloaf stops by he'll answer it I don't need your dumbass comments. That's okay the shroomery just lost my sponsor money because of people like you two.Why would someone donate money to get treated like this.

There was a thread recently where a dad threw a grow off a balcony.
@RP: I've answered this question twice in the last two days. Freezing = bad. UTFSE, or suck on Hamloaf. Ok with me either way.

Cubensis are a tropical variety of mushroom and thrive in tropical climates.
Below freezing temperatures = mycelial death so my guess is it won't work.
There's only one thing to do when and if in doubt about situations like these.
Because you are in a unique position to answer this question for your self, warm them up and spawn them to some bulk.
At least you will have tried and you'll come out knowing one more aspect of Myccology.

Some other things a child might do:
- Post using poor spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Throw a hissy fit when questions aren't answered quickly.
- Threaten to take marbles and go home.
- Fail to do so after making such a threat.
- "Well, Hamloaf loves me even if you don't!!1!".
What's left RP? Going to hold your breath until you pass out?

That's nice of you Doc. It seems to me that your the one acting like a child. But I guess if I spent my whole life here I would know as much as you. But I got a life and a job so I can't spend my life on the shroomery. And to add on to my post, Roadkill says this in the rules of the shroomery-----Please do not give anyone a hard time for asking a question...there is hardly any stupid questions...well there are some. But be nice or don't reply if you're gonna be mean!

If you guys are going to get all pissy at new folks asking questions, at least get it right. Cubensis mycelium can freeze solid and still come back to fruit when thawed out. I once left a substrate out in the snow in below freezing temperatures for over two weeks, and once it was brought back in and warmed up, it was fruiting again within a week.
In our shiitake farm, we set substrate blocks that are ready to fruit out in the snow for up to two months until we're ready for them, which frees up space in the colonizing room for new substrates. Shiitake, oyster and many other species can withstand months of far below freezing temperatures. RR
