Delay on menu options onMouseOut event

Hey, I just think there should be a delay on the onMouseOut event for the menu options above (Home, Mushroom Info, Community, Gallery), such that the menus don't disappear immediately after the cursor moves off of the options. It's kind of a pain in the ass to try and select a menu option 4 menus deep (for instance Mushroom info->Find Mushrooms->Mushroom Hunting FAQ->Active Mushrooms->Psychoactive Species), just to have to do it all over again cause the mouse moved off of the menu item.

Should be simple enough to do, nay?

A longer onMouseOut delay would be nice on the post previews as well.  It's annoying when you are reading a thread in the preview pane, and after you click through like 10 posts, you move your mouse to far, and have to start over again.

I agree with both of these ideas.  So many times I accidentally move the mouse and it goes away.  I use the post preview window more times than not.

Unfortunately this is a bit more complex than it sounds. The drop-down menu is pure CSS (no Javascript) which is very cool and slick from a geeky perspective, but it's problematic to add behavior which isn't already exposed eg. by the :hover pseudo-class. Basically, it's not just a matter of increasing a timeout delay somewhere, we'd have to use a totally different approach for displaying menu items and it might be easiest if we scrapped the current toolbar all together. Not out of the question, but not super-high priority either as I hope you understand.

It's a similar story with the popup post preview. The previews actually do have a 1/4 second mouseout delay, but mousing over another post link will always hide the current preview immediately (and again, this behavior is pretty deeply ingrained in the script and not easily changed). I think that's what's happening most of the time when people encounter this problem, but I'll bump up the delay to half a second and see if it helps.
