I'm not exactly an expert growing shrooms, but I have had my share of experience with overlay. I have found that overlay only occurs on jars that I turn upside down, so i reccomend that you don't do that. However, overlay just makes full colonization take longer and that's not a real problem except longer incubation times make the cakes more vulnerable to water damage. I wouldn't sweat it. Also, you shouldn't cold shock the cakes until they are in the terrarium. Just remember that cubies are pretty forgiving and once you get past the early stages where contamination can occur, you should be alright. Peace out, yo.

Patience my young jedi apprentice. Overlay is a condition that effects a casing layer and has nothing to do with your subsrate. I don't recomend cold shocking for p-cubies in the jar, I would simply birth and place in your fruiting chamber and once again have patience.

cakes are supposed to have 'overlay' so do nothing. ignore the bad advice and go ahead and flip your jars, they'll finish faster. ------------------ Visit http://www.drooldonkey.org Global Psychedelic Community, Forums & Chat, Teks & Tips.
