waiting for pinning
    #1357304 - 03/08/03 05:17 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

The jars have completely filled out with mycelium over a couple weeks ago. He has been waiting to see signs of pinning for about two or three weeks. The mycelium in each jar shows no signs of infection or and other problems, but it's been a long time now, and still no signs of growth. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to fruit invitro? If not then just birth them. Provide some light, temps in the low 70's, rh >95% and fresh air.

some cakes simply dont fruit, wether it be because of poor care, or just an abnormality. some things to check would be:

air exchange: are u removing enough co2 to emulate an outdoor enviroment?
light: i suggest 12-16 hours of visible light while the faq of shroomery says 10 hours is overkill...
humidity: rh in the high 80's to 100%, with 95-100% being optimum

and is your cake bruising anywhere?

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

hey man,
from what i gathered you are waiting for signs of primoidia(sp?) formation, the only info i can offer as to why it isnt going according to planned, is that the strain you are using may not be one that does that. the matias romero strian is best known for this feature, and some say mazatapec and the EQ strain do this as well.
hope this helps. by the way what strain are you using?

p0larjake?

psilocyben cubensis...

there are a few things that might have gone wrong. Maybe I didn't offer them enough light. I don't know. The growing is occuring in a closet, so maybe it's not the best place to do that.

A few things. Birthing might just be attempted, and maybe starting over again.

Any more suggestions?

you should try posting the specifics of your setup (birthing the cakes, pf, fruiting invitro, what?) and maybe specify a specific strain. You'll get a better answer then. I'd say just wait, though.
