it looks like monopoly money. In a few years paper money will be obsolete anyway.

Isn't the American money black on one side already?
It's about time you guys found a new way to print your money, it's flimsy as hell.

Flimsy? It's made from a denim mix. It's actually pretty sturdy. The color on the back changes depending on which angle you look at it from black to green.
i think the Canadian money lookes cool (minus the queen) but seemed more flimsy. I really do like the picture of the loon on one of the bills. Since i'm from the Detroit area i see and exchange canadian money almost every day.

"I really do like the picture of the loon on one of the bills."
Heh, we haven't had that bill since '94. If I remember correctly, the Canadian money is made out of longer lasting material than the american money.
The new Canadian bills are neat, they look all high tech. Although, they had the retarded idea to put brail in the corner, which is fine if the first person to get that bill is blind, but the brail wears down in no time.

What trips me out is that it was not that long ago they came out with the current design and now it is changing again. There must be serious counterfit problems. The current bills look fake and now they are coming out with money that looks like play money.

whole point of these new colored bills and here in canada, the many different designs on the quarter and Tooney ($2 coin), is just to get people to be less familiar with physical money and get them to use credit cards, and interac. That way people will already be used to the idea of electronic transfer funds which will eliminate any blackmarket exchange of goods.

"they shouldn't do that. "
Why does it matter?

The only reason the bills "look fake" or "like play money" is because they're new.
They'll look like normal money when you get used to them.

Monopoly money is pretty plain compared to the new money.

I thought it was to make it easier to tell the different denominations at a glance. I am sure there are many reasons for the new bills.

yea exactly, i don't like that idea at all. I also try to use cash whenever possible and I never leave large sums of money in the bank either, but rather keep it in a safe at home. After all, your money in the bank is just 1's and 0's and if someone pulls the plug....

"After all, your money in the bank is just 1's and 0's and if someone pulls the plug...."
That's kind of an oversimplification...
Your money is still probably safer in the bank. One thing you could do is put cash in a safe deposit box.

Your money is still probably safer in the bank
I?d say your money is safer under your mattress than in a bank. Those vampires at the banks will suck you dry faster than you can say "wheres my crucifix?" At least if your money is under the mattress it won?t incur any charges.
Personally I can?t believe that the US still uses paper money (denim mix, whatever.) We?ve been using plastic notes down under for years and I reckon they rule. They make paper notes seem so old fashioned.
