nice deal... seems so simple it almost hurts the brain to think about it. Time to go and steal my sisters mini fridge she left when she went back to college

and agar, the airflow is just regulated by the humidifier, correct? or do you have a fan of some assortment on the interior regulating airflow?

A COOLMIST is an impeller driven fan (of sorts) with a part of it in water, which it picks up, spins, which hits the sides of the container & the water turns to a tiny particulate mist of moisture, which is blown out & into where ever it is directed.

a foaf uses an upright fridge with seperate door for the freezer. In the freezer section he set up a heat lamp and conected it to a thermostat. the freezers fan was connected to the wiring for the heat lamp. when the heat lamp turns on the fan triggers as well pumping fresh warm air into the fridge section. fresh air gets into the freezer via a filter covered hole on the back. also in the freezer compartment is a small ultrasonic on a timer. the mist is channeled into the fridge via rubber tubing. a drip tray was installed under the entrance of the coolmist hose. Light is provided by a 22" floresent grow bulb fixed to the door. all automated thru timers and thermostats. works great. couple of locks on the door and its tamper proof.

Mushroomfriend, even if u use the alufoil if u dont manage a good pinning strategy u will have side pinning. IMO the principal reason for this is that u don't allowed ur case to run enough or u are putting less case on sides.

He also made a flowhood from it so it seems, I am not into flowhoods so I dont know about that. But a FC from those trays seems questionable!
BUT I would love to get me some of those black trays. Mine now are transparant and even though I use alufoil, sidepinning is occuring. The alufoil is reflecting the little light available (often after a flush or 2) so sidepins occur now and then. Mostly they grow upwards but when havestesting them the shroombase can be 2 inches below the substrate...

There's no evidence that he's dead. I believe he's just moved on to other pursuits. I spoke with him on the phone after he had already left the shroomery. RR

Hey RR can you phone Agar and ask him if his fridge is for sale?...j/k Any way I was wondering how many member here have one of these modded fridges for incubation and fruiting? If you have one please post up some pictures so we came take a look at your setup. Thanks for your time. I have a old fridge like this and will mod it and post some picks when done.

He was around here recently for a few months with a different user name. A few of you figured it out and PMd me to see if it was him. He's moved on once again. He'll be back in a year or two. RR
