DC / San Fran / LA protest for March 15 anyone?
    #1353182 - 03/05/03 07:09 PM (13 years, 9 months ago)

I'm going to DC again ...

Busses from all over are available. Last time I flew, can't afford it this time so it's a 36 hour roundtrip bus ride for me. Packing plenty of herb and my laptop with DVD's and tunes.

I can see the tip of the washington monument from the top of my street. DC is like 4 miles away. I can take the metro there and be at the white house in 10 minutes. What time?

that explains it...when they were protesting the G8 talks in Detroit a majority of the people (which was very few) were bussed in.

Washington Monument at noon, rally there then march to the white house.
After I get my sign made I'll let you know how to look for me!

March 15 now appears to be the intended date of the invasion; and Bush has already said he does not care about the protesters' opinions.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/03/08/sprj.irq.main/index.html

"Kuwaiti workers said they were told to make 35 holes in the fence by March 15, the United Nations said."

Where did you get the March 15 date? Anyway, I'm going to protest no matter what. The January protest they were saying it looked like we would strike Iraq in February, now they're saying in March. The protests are working. There are now senators and reps speaking against the war, little too late after they already gave Bush total control. I will continue to speak and post and march as long as I have to.

Thanks for the heads up Buzz!!

I'll be spreading the word for sure. Its great to see all these protests happening. I mean, its like the 60's all over again... People coming together to show their feelings about whats happening in the world.

I dont understand why you even post in this thread Invertigo. Why? Its like you are FOR war. Spreading negative energy, its just too bad. I think everyone should try to make time to attend a protest. Id rather "waste" a day by marching, getting exercise and expressing my feelings than have thousands of innocent civlilans and people die.

angryshroom - Yeah! It feels like the 60's all over to me too! It's amazing to be in a crowd of hundreds of thousands and it's all for peace. Everyone calm, no nasty shit that you'd normally find with a group of 50 in a club. I was bummed when I went to DC only cuz I wanted to take some herb with me but didn't want to risk it in the airport. Then I got in the crowd, smelled some weed and looked around. A few guys were passing around a doob and I asked if I could have a hit. They didn't mind and it was good! I got buzzed then we started marching up capitol hill. It was the best time. The biggest thing I've ever been a part of. I hope next weekend is even bigger.

Peace

Hey everybody, just wanted to bump this one up.  We find time to go to protests because we care about the terrible state our country is in and want to protest and change things, although the powers that be really dont give a fuck.  The protest on the 15 th is also worldwide.  Spread the word.  This is only two days before the deadline.  This is a very exciting, albeit scary fucking time in the world.  Please go to protests and make your voices heard.  Millions will come out to voice their opposition to this terribly unjust and misguided war.  I will be in DC.  See you there if you care.  Even if you are for the war come out with an argument, and show that somehow you are the majority in this country...according to the polls   Peace, Buddha5254

Hey everyone... myself and Learyfan will be in attendance.. us Shroomerites should meet up beforehand so as to be a force! Let's arrange a place for us all to meet before the protest... how about a metro stop? I think the closest one to the washington monument is the Smithsonian stop on the red line. We could all meet outside that metro stop at the top of the stairs. At any rate I will surely be there and I'd like to meet Shroomerites...so if you're going, PM me or post here so we can arrange a meeting place.
