uneven Pinset
    #1352952 -

So I cased with a 50/50 layer less than 1 inch thick with some liquid cake inoculate poured over inch of substrate. casing layer under and then perlite under that. The substrate layer I ground in a coffee grinder and evenly distributed ( so no chance of uneven growth). So anyways, my problem is with uneven as hell pinset. Some fruited fully, some are about there, some are fruiting, some are just fruiting, and finally some are just starting to show pins. What's the deal with this?? It seems like this is going to go on until the whole casing layer is covered with pins! This I'm guessing is not a good sign for further flushes. Could someone please enlighten me as to what can be done, why this happened, and what could the repercussions be of such sporadic pinning?

Could you explain this part once more?

Re: uneven Pinset [Re: Anno]

sure anno.  My casing consists of top layer less than one inch of 50/50 (Jiffy Mix I think it's called, verm/peat moss), under that is a one inch layer of coffee ground substrate (so as to evenlt distribute layer) with a few blobs of my  liquid cake inoculate, under that is small casing layer, and under that is a small layer of damp perlite.  Hope this clears things up.
