I found this on the FP-10 Website under Alerts @
www.fp10.com/walmartpetition.htm
It seems as though Michael Moore is trying to convice Wal Mart to stop selling Handgun Ammunition nationwide.
Go here to sign and read the petition.

Clarification to above post:
The petition linked to above is AGAINST Michael Moore's petition to end the sales of ammunition in all Wal-Marts. Just thought that needed to be clarified for those of us who would respond without actually clicking on the link.

Yeah I thought this was kinda gay. I don't even buy ammo @ walmart but I like to have them as a high $ opinon if I run out. I only bought 1 box of 20 7.62 shells there once and will never again unless I have to have them.(my ammo got soaked on hunting trip)
I think I payed close to 13 bucks for a box of 20 At my local gun shop a box of 20 costs me 3.00
The only ammo I really ever buy there is shotgun shells and 22rd's There cheap anywhere

EDIT: and I meant no personal attack against you, Learyfan. I happen to think your posts add a very interesting dimension to the Shroomery community. I always look forward to seeing what new and interesting pic you have attached to your posts.

You mean completly wrong, made up arguments like the one you raised in the GUNS thread? Like this made-up quote from Adolf?

You stilll believe in that Hitler qoute? Any evidence of your own to support it? Can you provide me a law the Nazi's passed relating to gun control in 1935? Shouldn't be too hard to prove if there's any truth to it whatsoever.

"If gun laws in fact worked, the sponsors of this type of legislation should have no difficulty drawing upon long lists of examples of crime rates reduced by such legislation. That they cannot do so after a century and a half of trying--that they must sweep under the rug the southern attempts at gun control in the 1870-1910 period, the northeastern attempts in the 1920-1939 period, the attempts at both Federal and State levels in 1965-1976--establishes the repeated, complete and inevitable failure of gun laws to control serious crime." "Assault rifles have never been an issue in law enforcement. I have been on this job for 25 years and I haven't seen a drug dealer carry one. They are not used in crimes, they are not used against police officers." -- Trenton NJ Deputy Chief of Police Joseph Constance
"Since police started keeping statistics, we now know that assault weapons are/were used in an underwhelming 0.026 of 1% of crimes in New Jersey. This means that my officers are more likely to confront an escaped tiger from the local zoo than to confront an assault rifle in the hands of a drug-crazed killer on the streets." -- Joseph Constance (deputy chief of Trenton NJ police dept) in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in Aug 1993
Here is the best one and it's even from jesus
Jesus on Self-Defense - He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. -- the Bible, Luke 22:36.
`Firearms have been around for over 400 years, yet it is only in the last 20 years that people have begun shouting "gun control". Why then, only recently, has this become such an issue? Moreover, why are there more mass-murderers than at any other time in our known history? It is not because weapons are more powerful -- 200-year-old muzzleloaders have a much greater force-per-round than today's "assault rifles". It is not because weapons are semi- or fully-automatic -- rapid-fire weapons have been available for most of the last century. It is not due to a lack of laws -- we have more "gun control" laws than ever. It IS, however, because we have chosen to focus on "gun control" instead of crime control or "thug control." It IS because only recently has the public become complacent enough to accept, by inaction, the violence present in our society.' - Kevin Langston, Tuesday, 29 October, 1991 (Bingo)

No shit????
I was there getting some camping shit the otherday and desided to get a box of 9mm rounds to kill some tin cans this weekend. They told me they didn't have any 9mm rounds. I thought that was strange and shruged it off.
They still had long rifle ammo and shotgun shells. Is it just handgun ammo K-mart doesn't sell?
I usually get my stuff at the gun shop or pawn shop it usually has a way better price there.

No, your article provides no proof that Hitler didn't say the quote. It casts some doubt (doesn't disproove) upon whether or not the quote was said in a speech, but I never said, and have never seen written, that it is a quote from a speech. And I've seen it written in many places.

After the shooting in Columbine, where people were shot with ammunition sold at K-Mart, Moore started a campaign against K-mart selling ammunition(or certain kinds of it) and eventually seceded, at least for certain kinds of it.

No, your article provides no proof that Hitler didn't say the quote
Yes it does.
And I've seen it written in many places.
Urban myths do get repeated a lot - that's kinda why they're urban myths.

Amen to that!
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

The problem with Mr. Moore is, like most activists, he has an agenda that colors his preceptions to all else.
Mr. Moore is logical, dedicated and intelligent in his pursuit of politician's malfeasance. However, Mr. Moore is also ILLOGICAL, paranoid and emotionaly attached to his AGENDA to remove guns and resulting gun violence from the U.S.
When one gets to the point where ones message is being heard it is often that at this time the messenger requits from logical discussion to emotional arguments in support of their position. This usualy results in " (blank) is a dick" arguments; as we have here.
Mr. Moore hates gun violence; it's just that simple. He also hates lying politicians and the messes they leave in their wake. Unfortunatley Mr. Moore is not a believer in the soundness of INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY. As such, he cannot distinguish between significant areas of personal libertys that should NOT be invaded and those areas which are more malliable in this sense.
I like his work for the most part. I just recognize his actions as those of one that is WILLING to give up his own personal liberty for some sense of saftey. As such, I also despise him. In fact, I now despise Tom Cruise, for his public statement to the effect that (paraphrase) "we need to give up some liberty to ensure our saftey".
It is dangerous to have such characters running around with a camera and microphone. My concern is that the sheep people will just nod their heads and say "that sounds good" adn then vote in a politician that works , with some ENTHUSIASM, to ensure the removal of ALL personal libertys.
Mr. Moore is just an interesting director, producer and writer; nothing more (no pun intended).
