Total eye candy. I, too, love the habitat shot and well all the other shots.
-------------------- In ancient times, when demons roamed with man, They hunted, loved and lost, hand in hand, As time went on, the difference between them faded. You couldn't tell anymore, demons and man were related, and some would say the same, but who would like to claim? In time, Gods had even forgot, Demons, too, once love had sought. In times recent I remember, Once I was a man, In my heart I had an ember, I'll relate the best I can but it was snuffed, one distant December. And yet here I stand, no flesh, no bones, no seed or semen, All that's left is this Demon.

Awesome photography! I read that psilocybe pelliculosa grows in Idaho where I live? It must be extremely rare occurrence though;because I have searched diligently for them with no luck! Iam well experienced in searching for psilocybes, and have studied them for over 15yrs now.I have never gone to the coast and come back empty handed without psilocybes.Idaho sucks for psilocybes due to our extremely cold temps.Anybody else ever found pelliculosa in north Idaho?Back in 1997 however I did come across three specimens of P.stuntzii[blue ringers]growing in a cluster in woody debris covered in pine needles.Been back to the same spot every year since, and have searched high & low everywhere never to see them again in Idaho.

I have found pelliculosa many times in north Idaho, near Priest Lake. Late Sept. through October after rains start.

very cool. love clear cuts, because you usually have the whole place to yourself, and you're not necessarily bugging anyone and free to roam around.

According to Menser the margin of P.pelliculosa is "straight, never incurved" [Hallucinogenic and poisonous mushroom field guide by Gary P.Menser p88 and plate on p89] what you have there is P.Washingtonensis. A more exciting find photographically!

An analysis of the type collection of Psilocybe washingtonensis was shown to be a Deconica species and not active or close to sect. semilanceata.
