Thats a joke, right?
Don't take this the wrong way but..
NEWS FLASH: THE MAN DON'T GIVE TWO FUCKS ABOUT YA
If what your saying was the case, then why is alcohol and cigarettes legal if they are "doin it for our safety"? Those drugs kill hundreds of thousands every year! Psychedelics are not physically dangerous, and many of them are actually used as medicines. Their illegal because in the 60's they inspired people to disengage from cultural norms and move away from a backward society and start a counter-culture based on love and community. This obviously is not good for busine$$, so they lumped most psychedelics into the category of "has no medicinal value", which is a lie, and criminalized them.
They should not be able to tell you what you can or can not put into your body. And also, most psychedelics (at least the classics, like shrooms, lsd, dmt) have EXTREMELY high LD50's, (overdose levels)..and don't react dangerously with most party drugs that are around.

That's really what I've learned off these drugs though is to stop judging people and hold my own personal standards to everyone else when really its just a waste of time and a source of unhappiness.
I agree with everything you said- not sure why you seem ton think I'm taking a combative standpoint
Ha know, i dont think that, I was just throwing my opinion out there. Peace man.

People who use drugs in religious rituals ought at least to know what are or might be incompatible with them, and to know the process behind the rituals involved in their use (even if they are not a priest of equivalent official).
probly shouldve copied the whole quote, you misunderstood me. i think theres a common misconception that mushrooms, acid, or psychedelics in general just get you fucked up. trying to explain the experience to anyone who has never tripped is like explaining how to shoot up on heroin: its just another drug and youre just getting high. the predominant stereotype of psychedelics is that you hallucinate, and unfortunately, that probably contributes to its illegality. and i do agree with everything you said
side note: i think mianfei meant to say that people who party should understand the spiritual use of mushrooms; his last sentence is redundant
-------------------- I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

I take them to enjoy life to the utmost and augment extraordinary experiences (in nature, at concerts, at home). It's helped me become a more connected ("spiritual"?) person, and I've had a hell of a lot of fun.
I think people who go into mushrooms only expecting a good time end up learning a few things along the way. You can't divide shroomers up that way.

I’d never thought of that, sorry.
There certainly is a tendency, acknowledged on both extremes of politics, to attribute the government with a desire to be utterly all-powerful. The idea of a counterculture base don love and community certainly has very definite religious roots, even if the Boomers did turn it into something else.

I could never take mushrooms at a party. I couldn't even attempt it.

Even a party where everyone is already tripping?
