Dehydrator problem and possible fix

I bought a dehydrator from walmart a while back, iv been using it but the space between shelves is so narrow that its hard to get mushrooms in there without breaking the caps off. Iv seen several other people having problems with this. So do you think its a good idea to break apart the inside shelving on 2 of the 5 internal trays. The rings that hold up a part of the dehydrator would still be part of the dehydrator, but the fact that the inside is not there would double the allowable height per tray. At the same time however my beef jerky capacity, should I ever decide to make some with the seasoning that came with the dehydrator, will be severely reduced.

I cut the racks out of a few rings on my Nesco with a steak knife... works like a champ. Keep an eye out on ebay and craigslist for extra rings to butcher as well..

I like how you think shroomy 1. A cabinet, screens, a box fan, but whats that last object? you should write a quick tek on this. Im sure many would find it useful. Makes since Malachi, I was just gonna use a hammer I had lying around to break it up.

that last object is a space heater. That particular model cost me $30.00. It is completely adjustable so you have total control throughout the seasons. Running it all the time gives you complete control of the room's ambient temperature,so you can use it to control your rooms temps during your colonization phase... Fruiting phase.

That's Nice!
The 1 proved it here - no need to go mangling kitchen appliances! If you are at the stage of considering to do so there are better alternatives... If this is solely purposed - cut the racks!

Any other specifics to it. I can see that there is no top for good airflow. Im assuming that there is open space below the box fan. Did you build the cabinet yourself? Thats some crazy awesomeness.
