Here is a perfect example of a flat statement with no substantiation. :congrats:

All you have to do is find one similarity between whatever you imagine a 'holy man.' [sic] to be and a Then you've substantiated the statement.

But when we get to the meaning the statement is wiggidy whack; quite almost maybe not un-dissimilar to the feeling I get when looking in the eyes of my long departed lover under the fresh picked mistletoe.

but only as a metaphor, being too good to be true it therefore must recall the opposite in one's mind, bringing forth the rotting stench of a dead animal, the bone stretched skin of a starved dog, your dieing drunk father's last hangover, pissing and shitting himself, vommiting all over himself.

Anyway screw the flatlanders; I walk on glaciers up in the mountains.

The concept does not seem alien to me , just like the concept of elitism and hypocritical behavior  is not alien to me.

Nothing about you is alien to me.
Because i see myself making the same mistakes..
i see myself in all the 'shortcomings' of humanity..

i am humble enough to identify with your own lies , and also arrogant enough to call you out for it.

i am you.

and you don't like that.

Agreed.

The bare decleration seems to substitute for argument.  At least if they suppose a stated factual basis for their post they can be evaluated on the logic and veracity of the factual assertion, however; even this is way too much to ask it seems.

When did what you believe, think, or suppose become an argument?  Simply declaring something is not anywhere close to an argument.  Do people really not see that they are doing this?

Substantiation is pretty simple. You explain to the audience precisely step-by-step how you came to a certain conclusion with as few assumptions and chasm jumps as possible.

OC: How do you know there are seven chakras?
RP: That's what all the books say.
OC: Where do they get that information from?
RP: They got it from Masters.
OC: Where did the Masters get it from?
RP: From direct experience.
OC: How do you know this?
RP: I read it in a book.

This is a standard conversation on all too many beliefs here. Round and round and goes nowhere.

So explaining something by the steps of your example is what you are saying is not substantive. I see what you mean that there are "chasms" or "assumptions" in this dialogue.

But this is an example of what is not substantial.

I am asking you what is substance.

Are you saying that substance is relative - that few or tiny chasms and assumptions makes a conclusion substantial? Or are you saying that there are no assumptions or chasms at all?

I am wondering what makes "conclusion with as few assumptions and chasm jumps as possible" substantial.

Some argument demonstrating the veracity of the claim.

Most simply, and perhaps necessarily, it involves positing a conclusion along with any necessary assumptions and establishing the factual allegations' and their veracity, as well as describing the logical connection between the conclusion and the facts.

This is generally a conclusory claim rather than anything substantive.  An expeirience not empiraclly described is not worth a whole lot.

John, I am well familiar with the metaphysical concept of substance. Here, I was interrogating Orgone Conclusion's manner of positing it in dialogue.
