Favorite comic strip ever. Bill Watterson is a genius. Philosophy and deep introspection from a 6 year old with vivid fantasies of his teacher as a large, oozing alien forcing him to appease some deity they call "nollij."

Have every collection book.
Read every one of them cover-to-cover at least 15 times. I was in 7th grade when Bill retired, and I almost cried.

i dont know the truth behind this, but ive heard that the personality/views and antics of Calvin were supposedly based on John Calvin, and Hobbes' existence and all that is a metaphor for the views of Thomas Hobbes... anyone have insight on that?
other than that, totally love the comic
EDIT: just wikipedia'd it, guess its true

Calvin and Hobbes search engine. Plug anything you remember about the strip into the search engine and odds are it will come up.

I have a few. I read em on the shitter
i grew up on this and the comics became more meaningful overtime. I've probably read all the strips a million times over and its always entertaining. Sometimes i'll lol at the strips too if its been a while
