the start of a new shroom cultivator has begun, Following the PF tek from erowid. Inoculation and sterilization has not yet occured. There are no holes in the lids, as I was told that it would leak out(using pressure cooker) is it bad to put the holes in AFTER? and do you think using non-tapered jars is a bad idea?(couldnt find tapered ones anywhere) and anybody has suggestions for measurements using the 500 ml. jars?(hoping mine work out)
thanks alot.

You should make the holes prior to sterilization (pressure cooking)...you can seal them with electrical tape. Non-tapered jars are preferable, as it is easier to birth the cakes from them.

don't put holes, just leave the lids really loose. I find that over time the holes begin to rust and might compromise sanitation. Plus you can sterilize jars and keep them for a couple of weeks before innoculation ( the lids seal themselves airtight). Im sure there will be detractors to this, but it has worked for me.
