A little advice on the ganja? (negative vibes)

I first smoked cannabis when I was 18 at a fishing lodge I worked at for a summer in Alaska on the Yetna river. It was a great experience(the pot and the Alaska trip:sun:) I enjoyed smoking and the the guy that first introduced to it was this really great musician. we would toke up in our shitty beat up cabin that was set aside for the employees, much unlike the ones for the guests, anyway he would play guitar and sing and we'd have a blast. when I came back to Washington I continued to enjoy cannabis and then started smoking with my friends that I knew already indulged in this delight.

Its years later and I have found I don't nearly enjoy smoking as much. I used to smoke almost everyday and I found I enjoyed it more then but now I smoke maybe once a week or less and on occasion twice a week.

I do suffer from anxiety and depression and have since I was 16 but now I find smoking makes my anxiety worse some times and will make me feel kinda shitty. This is such a bummer because I truly enjoy cannabis as a beautiful plant and a wonderful medicine.

Maybe this could be due to the quality or type of weed I get but I'm always getting different goods and some times I feel good but other times I have anxiety about how I might act stupid or not know what to say and its silly. Basic social anxiety kinda stuff.

I have a lot of respect for this plant and would love to be able to enjoy its benefits with out the negative vibes I sometimes create for myself.

I myself am a mildly spiritual person and am very open minded. I find meditation helps a lot and listening to enjoyable music or helps ease my occasional anxiety whist stoned.

I just would love to have some supportive feed back and hopefully some stories of fellow shroomerites that overcame some negative vibes they got from a hallucinogen.

I get the same way. When I'm high or if I've been smoking every day for a week or two, I become sort of distanced and don't want to talk to people. I'm not really nervous about what to say in casual situations, but if I have to do a presentation for a class or something you'd never catch me stoned. Pretty much it just comes down to only smoke when the time is right. If you feel less anxious when you've got the doors locked, blinds closed, and phone unplugged/ turned off, then only smoke at that point. You wouldn't have to worry about social stuff.

I usually try and have some benzos on hand in-case it gets too irritating and that is as expected 100% relief. thanks for the reply, glad to hear any and all opinions.

I'm currently trying to get my medical card for IBS but I also suffer from coccydynia which is horrendously horrible pain from your tailbone(coccyx).

My IBS is a pain but I really feel like if I can be a medical marijuana patient I can get pain relief without the anxiety.

Another thing is I am going to try and get a hold of some purely indica clones or seeds so I can get a more body stone and not so much of the hallucinogenic and mind stone of the sativa.

I think part of the social anxiety aspect of smoking weed goes away after you have smoked it lots in situations where it is socially acceptable (like festivals, gathering, barter fairs etc.). I used to get these type of symptoms back in the day. These days after many years of pot smoking, I find I can actually relate to people more easily when I'm baked. Even at work. I work in customer service, and find I can really relate to people and enjoy helping them a lot more when I'm baked.

I used to smoke Weed, But as i got older and started to get more conscious awareness of my life, mortality, lack of self reliability, ect. weed became something that made me anxious, and uneasy.

Then one day i decided to smoke again and it gave me a flashback to a horrific mushroom trip i had that lasted 2 hours......I overcame these negative "Vibes" when the weed wore off :rofl2:

If you want the potential "health benefits" of marijuana (even though it sounds bullshit to me :rolleyes:) Then drink Hemp protein powder. its THC free and has all kinds of good stuff for your body.

Otherwise you may want to try a different way to relax. If you have anxiety problems weed seems to make them worse in the long run
