Ive only smoked marijuana a handful of times in my life.
The first time i didnt get high,
the second time i got high as fuck off of half a joint with no problem.
the third time i smoked, i didnt really feel much.
Fourth time, i smoked some from a fat joint of good marijuana, and my heart raced really fast and i got a tingly feeling in my chest. After about 20 minutes of walking down the street with my friends i got better and got high as fuck.
fifth time, i smoked 2 hits off of a blunt, a couple bowl hits, some hits off of joints 2 more time spread out through the night, got alittle high no problem.
6th time i took a g bong hit the size of a water bottle. My heart was racing so fast, i had a pressure in my chest, and a tingly feeling again. After about 15-20 minutes of this i went back to normal and was feeling nice.
i havent smoked again, because im afraid of this happening. Both times burping releived the sensation a bit, im not sure if this is significant.

Smoke more, don't smoke at all, or smoke much less when you do.

increased heart rate is just one of the effects of weed. nothing to worry about. enjoy being able to get that high while you still can!

I can't count how many times I have gotten high. It is normal for marijuana to raise your blood pressure and heart rate until your body becomes accustomed to it. Either you like getting high and you will, or you don't enjoy its effects, and you won't smoke anymore. I just smoke enough until I get high, and I'm good for an hour or two. You aren't gonna have a heart attack or anything, so I wouldn't be "afraid" of it.

Yes, this is completely normal...
Damn near everyone experiences the increased heart rate and a hard heart beat, more so with new smokers or people with low tolerance. Or they just simply notice it more ....
Unless you have blood pressure problems then you have nothing to worry about, this is just one of the physical side effects of cannabis (pretty much the only risk w/ pot is if you have heart/circulatory issues).
I know that cannabis causes your blood vessels to dilate rapidly. So it has always made sense to me that when your blood vessels dilate this causes your blood pressure to drop, there for you heart rate speeds up...Pretty damn sure this is what's happening
Just relax man, you're not going to die, you know that cannabis is incredibly safe. When I first started to smoke I would also get the increased heart rate and pounding heart beat in my chest, but I simply ignored it knowing that it was just a physical side effect (same thing with random muscle twitches)...

Actually, weed lowers your blood pressure. The sudden drop in blood pressure is why your heart rate increases.

Hmmm, interesting ...
After some more research I found that (According to the NAS) the effects of marijuana on blood pressure are complex, depending on dose, administration, and posture. Marijuana often produces a temporary, moderate increase in blood pressure immediately after ingestion; however, heavy chronic doses may slightly depress blood pressure instead. One common reaction is to cause decreased blood pressure while standing and increased blood pressure while lying down, causing people to faint if they stand up too quickly. There is no evidence that pot use causes persisting hypertension or heart disease; some users even claim that it helps them control hypertension by reducing stress. One thing THC does do is to increase pulse rates for about an hour. This is not generally harmful, since exercise does the same thing, but it may cause problems to people with pre-existing heart disease. Chronic users may develop a tolerance to this and other cardiovascular reactions."
So the increased heart rate can cause blood pressure to rise, but at the same time blood vessels do dilate as well which in theory lowers blood pressure ...
