So props and all credit goes to Jimmytheworm for finding this spot and then sharing it with me! i havent picked a pelly in over 10 years so it was nice to get a good grip on the habitat again.its funny because i looked here for them this year, but waaaay too early. but i thank you jimmy and now lets get on with some pics.
For how common the books make it them seem, P pelliculosa doesnt get much attention or get found all that often so its nice to snap a few pics. my camera is fuckin up on me so i apologize for some sub par pics. but some good ones arent showing up, they are all grey, so i figure a few not so great pics is better than none.
heres the first few we found, right along the trail.
then we got ot his good spot. look at this, growing right next to the mycenas, you gotta have a good eye, nice one jimmy!!
and side by side with the Galerineas. you must really be diligent you are picking the right ones and be confident in your id. little slug likes the taste too! a beauty.
alot of showed some nice blueing on the stipe and as well in the base. i tasted a fresh on and it had quite a strong flavor. they are also have a very strong smell.
i hope you all enjoy.

Cool mushrooms.
Some of your pictures have grass in the front. When photographing mushrooms it really helps to move the grass out of the way before you take the pictures.
Jimmytheworm has the best pelliculosa pics on the net.
They sure look a lot like Mycena.
The Galerina are interesting, I wonder which ones they are.

thanks alan, i am pretty stoked on them.
ya i had some good shots but either my camera or my memory card is screwed up , i can see the pic on my camera, but when i load them on my computer its part of the pic and then just all grey, or its just all grey.
its amazing how much they look like mycenas, thats what makes peliculosa hunting a challenge. but what is really striking about them is how strong the smell is! the taste of a fresh mushroom is very strong too.

Memory cards go bad quite often, unfortunately. You might be able to mount the flash card as a usb disk with a usb card reader, but the pictures are probably gone. Consider getting a new flash card.
I have had 2 go bad on me and almost lost thousands of pictures. One of them mysteriously started working again and I copied off all the pics real quick.
When you get home back up the pictures from your flash card because they seem to die randomly.

Yes both cards that crashed had many gigs of rare finds from Mexico.
Seems to happen randomly too.
All the pics have been recovered and will be uploaded soon!

So how do you tell the difference between mycena (or hypholoma dispersum for that matter) and p. pelliculosa? The pellicle? I don't see any bluing at the base of the stems in your photos, either.
I wonder if I've ever mistaken pelliculosa for something else...

some blue more than others, most dont. the one i ate , the stem was really blue. it seemed to fade and being super low in psilocin, you cant expect that heavy of blueing. they look ALOT like P semilanceatas ,the only real difference is the consistently lighter cap color. although ive found libs this color, the pellys were 90% lighter over all. if you know what a lib looks like these stand out. the pellicle is quite thick and can be fully removed.
