FOAF a guy callled rocky...lives in some isolated corner of the world...the relative humidity there is about 64% at 80 /90 F....BUT HE CANT GET PERLITE!!...is there some other way .....can vermiculite (fine grade) be used instead...he will die if i dont tell him quick...he was saying something about jars ....colonised..but i dunno anything...about that...

You could use Vermiculite,clay pebbles if you can source them or boiled gravel.Pretty much anything to increase surface area of the water.You can even just use water as long as theres somthing moving it to stop it stagnating.Like an air bubbler.
Ive also read that a damp towel in the bottom will raise humiderty but i wouldnt do this as it will smell after a short while.
