Thoughts on physical healing...

Ever notice that people like Wayne Dyer, the pop-psychologist turned spiritual guru and Andrew Weil talk about healing cancer and diabetes, etc. through positive visualization, prayer and proper lifestyle, etc.
My question is: why can't these two "heavyweights" cure their own baldness? Is this not a physical malady? Is it NOT subject to the same "spiritual healing laws"? Or is hair exempt from this powerful life-force? (Or are these guys merely espousing optimistic bullshit to promote book sales and speaking tours?)
Basically, I need to know if baldness is more powerful than God?

Under normal circumstances, baldness is not a life threatening malady

Dyer isn't even in the same league as Dr. Weil. One is a pop psychologist and the other a former member of the Harvard medical staff. Dr. Weil is probably one of the most balanced professors of medicine alive on the planet.
I take it you haven't read very many of his books.

Maybe to them, baldness isn't anything to be healed any more than being uncommonly tall or blue eyed. It is not life threatening, it is merely cosmetic. A secure, self confident individual accepts himself for who he is and isn't worried about externalities which have no reflection upon the person who inhabits the physical shell.
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Its all BS....I believe in the power of the mind healing the body only in the sense that self control can cause the release of certain enzymes which control certain bodily functions. I don't believe in psychic surgery or any of that crap though.

Well i believe that that mind can heal it's self to a point or maybe to 100%. From what i have been learning about brain cancers is that just simple stuff like be unhappy if life and always being misrable that in return developes stress beyond more then you think and can make you not function as you should could start tumors inside your body. Somthing like that im sure you know what im trying to get to here, but if that is so then im a very furm believer in healing yourself and plus I've experienced this already in life by doing certain things that have enlighten me or should i say used!!.
Peace

Maybe to them, baldness isn't anything to be healed any more than being uncommonly tall or blue eyed. Uh huh, That is why in Dyer's first book, "Your Erroneous Zones" in which he talks about accepting your faults, the photographic cover of the book "conveniently" is cut off at his forehead giving the impression that he is not bald.
It is not life threatening, it is merely cosmetic. So what? People do a myriad of things to promote self esteem, from working out and dieting to grooming.
A secure, self confident individual accepts himself for who he is... And he accepts his terminal cancer as well, as part of the cycle of life.

Classic strawman. Are only life-threatening illnesses to be treated? When one gets a broken bone, does one let it set on it's own?
These guys both promote self-healing and thoughts that can change reality. I want to see them do it instead of just talking about it!
Should be a piece of cake compared to leukemia or multiple schlerosis, but nooOOOOOoooo!

I'd say Weil has a little more credibility. He's written some things about nutrition that are perfectly reasonable, and has also published an excellent book about drugs called "From Chocolate to Morphine". He does spew a little bullshit as well, though.
