Recommend winter boots.

I just moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and need to prepare for about 150" more snow than I'm used to this winter. I'd like something light enough that I could wear snowshoeing as well. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

I don't know about those. If you go to that REI link and read the reviews, they're horrible since they moved production of Sorels to the orient from Canada. The Canadian sorels were excellent. It's a shame it's so hard to find good boots.
I'm in an extremely cold winter climate here(-40). I generally look for good waterproof boots with a tight seal around my ankle for snowshoeing. You don't want a super-warm boot if you're going to be hiking, or you'll fill it up with sweat and then be cold. RR

try going to goodwill or a thrift shop before buying anything new. you might find something better for almost free.

Ive got a pair of all leather hunting boots.
They are about 14 eyelet, all leather, goretex lined, insulated, super grippy and 100% water proof. I believe the make is "prospector" but i can't seem to find it online. I absolutely love wearing these boots.
Highly recommend this style of boot, although they are extremely pricey.

However, i would recommend a good water proof hiking boot with gaiters, when it comes time to go snowshoeing.
