So I am totally in love with the sound of the banjo but I don't like a lot of folky bluegrass. This is a thirst for music that's hard to quench.

Id really like to know if anyone had some suggestions of some banjo rocking bands or just songs.

Some examples of what I'm looking for:

Iron Horse Bluegrass Tribute to Modest Mouse


Hugo 99 Problems


Gotta love that fucking banjo. I'm looking for the product of rock and roll fucks bluegrass and they have a baby. :sun:

Oh my god I fucking HATED that bluegrass Modest Mouse cover. Hated it.

But I do like to get my bluegrass on occasionally.
I highly recommend Old Crow Medicine Show, though you may well already have heard of them.

try listening to other songs by Iron Horse and there album Picking on Modest Mouse.

Love that bluegrass Modest Mouse album, lead me to get the other cover albums but they didn't quite live up to the others for me

I've been getting more and more into bluegrass as of late, here are a few good songs you may enjoy

Iron Horse is great.  :thumbup:  Their Metallica covers are best, IMO.

For the most part I like original, old style bluegrass best.
