container temperature

O.K. I know this one-armed guy who put some myco enviroment bags in a 3-gallon rubbermaid container. He sat the bags on a rack inside the container and under the rack he put 2 cloth hand towels. The towels are to help decipate(sp?) the heat. The ccntainer is sitting on a plant germination heat mat. He also place a thermometer on the rack w/ the bags. The temp is 82f.
I know the colonization temp should be 84-86f. Will the 82 degrees be enough? He said it was hard to get it to 82, down from 87, can it be done at this temp?

82F will work fine, just a little bit slower growth than if kept at the optimum temperature.

He just checked temp and it is now at 84f.  Hopefully it will not go up past 86f.
I'm very impatient. :crazy:  How long should I wait before peeking in to see what's happening?

If you run and check it every 15 minutes you are going to drive yourself crazy.  :wink:    Check it every three days.
