Bowling for Columbine
    #1347633 - 03/02/03 07:23 PM (21 years, 1 month ago)

If you have not already heard of this movie, I really recommend getting kazaa/winmx/bearshare or whatever other peer to peer shit and download this movie. Michael Moore has put together a phenomenal document talking about the shootings at Columbine high shool and the gun problem in America. Basically he is looking for the answer to why America has the most deaths by shootings, 11127 a year. He touches allot of sensitive subjects that need to be brought up in order for the American society to evolve.

I was just quoting the number from the movie. I realize statistics can be altered.

Why? he is asking some question that need to be asked. Are you fine with the way the American government is trying to control the world as if they know what "normal" is?

Could you explain precisely what this means? Other than it being some meaningless phrase you've heard on Fox news?

If the movie showed Canada in a bad light(like they do to Michigan) most Canadians probably wouldn't like the film. I understand why you might not like it, it makes your home state look like it's full of gun crazy nuts( if the people shown in the film are representitive than I'd agree with that view for sure).

Michael Moore comes from Flint, Michigan. Flint BTW has a higher crime rate than Detroit if that's possible and if the crazy's he's talking about reside in Flint he's talking about a lot of minority gang members.

He's actually referring to the "Ted Nugent-esque" hunters that primarily use their guns for hunting and target practice. He's not well received in this area by many because he makes up information when he can't find it himself.

I will give him his due and say he's good at riling up the bee's nest.

As for the bad light comment he'd have a pretty hard time making my city look bad, the crime is extremely low, upper and middle class and most if not all of the people i know in the area either have a concealed weapons permit or have rifles.

Flint BTW has a higher crime rate than Detroit

What was the crime rate like before General Motors turned the place into a ghost town?

He's not well received in this area by many because he makes up information when he can't find it himself.

Well, I've no doubt he's not recieved well by right-wingers. Talk to any of the 40,000 GM workers laid off in the last 10 years and you'll hear a different story. Watch "Roger and Me".

A mechanical device?

You know it's a bit more than that. It's gotta be in a different league than, say, a can opener, right?

Are nukes just mechanical devices? Like stuff you might find in a hardware store perhaps?

Some kids went nuts. A gun makes it real easy to lose your temper in style.

Nukes don't kill people. People kill people. If we ban nukes, guns will make a comeback...
