I understand where you are coming from, but I seem to have this splinter in my mind type of idea that the 'are-ness' that you refer to could be argued to be nothing more than a trusting in your own devices and assumptions pertaining to your outlook on what you think reality is. Do you consider this a possibility or is the intuitive-knowing-ness a satisfaction?

those devices were born out of the same universe that we are trying to understand. Wouldn't they be the safest bet? Intuitive knowledge is where it's at, it's the bedrock of logical conclusions anyhow.
And when I say intuitive, I don't mean 'guessing,' I mean when you feel something to be true in your being.

We should all worship intestines. The whole world has them in common and they look like a serpent. All hail the pink sock.

I personally have a problem with this...
When I know that I am right so deeply, that there is know way that I could possibly be wrong... That is when I know that I probably am (wrong).
Now having faith in something, or belief in what you do seems similar, but I think it is not. I think it's important to clarify that what you feel to be true in your being is simply what is true for you.

Wanna know a "secret"?.....They are praying to the same God, and the core tenants of both faiths are the same.
and to Wiccan_Seeker: Thank-you for posting that video, hearing the Quran recited in song (Nasheed) always brings tears to my eyes.

Well, that's true, but what is there outside of true for you? Just an agreed upon definition of truth. I think you can trust the intuition you get, provided your mind/ego isn't so much in control that this intuition becomes distorted and leads you to bad places

I think that if your ego didn't filter raw truth for you, then you might not understand it... You may not be able to put it into practice in your life. The ego filtration process can become so bloated that all truth may be lost, but I have to trust in myself as well.
I still am a member of humanity and society, and I must walk among my peers. I still must feed and shit. But I can praise the life I consume and seek harm reduction for others and myself. But that doesn't mean I won't try to have a good time doing it.
Bark.

It is a title. Same with 'Bible'.
'god' is a concept, God is (if God exists) God.
Funny little word, isn't it.

First of all: I really love your avatar, the gas pillars (M-15) are the most beautiful pictures I have ever laid eyes on, the Spire looks to me like an angel
Second, I agree that the human ego (or ID as the case may be) has the most detrimental effect on enlightenment. Truly, it is those that suffer the greatest tribulations (thus removing the Ego) that are closer to "God"
btw:I capitalize "God" out of respect

Observant Jews usually render the word G-d out of respect and tradition.
Similarly, the name of God in Hebrew ("elohim") during prayers is adjusted to elokim or something similar.
Quirky but cute.

When you truly have faith, you know it as sure as you know the sun was shining 8 minutes ago.
Like if I went out and left something important at home, if I truly had faith that it was in my pocket, it would be there and you could touch it the same as i.
(that sounded dirty )
Point is, most people confuse faith with hope.
